I've flip-flopped on this for a week now. While this blog originally started out as a Word document keeping several notes from episodes, I must say that it has been fun to share my thoughts (and mostly the thoughts of others) with everyone that bothered to read (Thanks, by the way).

Here's the deal. Places like LOSTpedia and DarkUFO now house everything that I have to say, and then some...and some more...and even more. I would encourage everyone who isn't doing so already, to take a look at those sites. You will see that a chunk of my info and Easter Eggs came from there (which I noted as often as necessary).

Recent developments in my life (for the better) have me questioning whether I need to spend the extra time I have to continue to put these notes together, rather than keep them in my head and have enjoyable conversations with those of you that I know who read this.

The Shape of Things to Come (S4:E9)

Just a warning...this week will be light, and next week will be non-existent, due to my Cancun vacation. Things should be back to normal afterwards.

By the way...did anyone like the episode? It was pretty good in my opinion. A lot of questions answered. Also, the title, "The Shape of Things to Come" is a book that's written as a historical book from the future. More time references.

1) So Sayid finally finds Nadia. He marries Nadia. Nadia gets killed. Ben gets in Sayid's head and we now know why Sayid works for/with Ben. Sayid is now an assassin out of his anger towards Nadia's death. I can't wait for the next Sayid Flash-Forward, when he finds Nadia. That should be on the same level as Desmond calling Penny.

2) Some Ben Questions: So how does Ben know that Hurley knows how to find Jacob? Did he figure it out when he went into the stone door and summoned the Monster? What exactly was in that room? Does Ben actually have a heart now, after Alex was killed? What was the deal he had in place with Widmore, now that the rules have changed? How will Desmond play into the whole part about Ben wanting to kill Penny? When did Widmore's accent go Australian? And the Shotgun in the Piano seat was classic!!!

3) This Ben question needed it's own spot. When he's spotted by the Bedouins, one of the Bedouin points out how Ben does not have a trail. The other replies, "Where did he come from? Down from the sky?" (From Lostpedia). Do you think Ben will find an excavation of Polar Bear bones nearby? The Vile Vorticies Theory is in full effect here.

4) What's the deal with Jack? In the "scenes from next week" Juliette says that his appendix has ruptured. Wouldn't it be creepy if the dead doctor from the island operates on ben from the ship in some twisted time warp? At first I thought he was taking the pill, and his addiction started from this point...but it turns out it was Amoxicillin. Not Oxycontin.

5) Ben uses the name Dean Moriarty. Sherlock Holmes's arch nemesis was Dr. Moriarty.

6) The name on Ben's Parka in the desert is Halliwax. As in, Edgar Halliwax, which is another name that Marvin Candle uses in the orientation videos.

7) A lot of loose talk about why Ben won't/can't kill Widmore. Some say Widmore can't die off the island, because he's been there (much like Michael). Another interesting one is that Ben and Widmore are each others' constants, and one would die without the other.

8) "Australia is key to winning the game." Hurley said something similar to that while playing Risk with Sawyer and Locke. I agree, in Risk that is. Australia is the first place I go in Risk. One point of entry from outside attackers, three territories in a safety net. However, in terms of LOST, Hurley may not be that far off either. They were all on a flight from Australia. We'll see if Australia plays any more of a role than it already has.

Meet Kevin Johnson (S4:E8)

Did Danielle get a DUI at some point? How about Karl? Ana Lucia, Libby and Jin got DUIs, and they all got killed off (sorta in Jin’s case). Anyway…it was nice to see Michael back in the fold. Nobody forgot that he left the island, and this was one of the loose ends that needed to get some attention. Also, not sure who was in the window, but it certainly wasn’t giant Walt.

1) I’m beginning to like the fact that it takes a bit before we can confirm whether we’re watching a flashback, flashforward, both, neither, etc. While last night was a flashback, it was a little hard to tell, at first, how far back they had gone until Michael spoke to his mother. As we’ve seen in the past, Michael tries to stand up to his mother, but she’s stronger than he is. It’s also ironic that Walt is now with Michael’s mother, as in one of Michael’s early flashbacks, he was on the phone with his mother and asked if she would take Walt.

2) Michael sees Libby, but he doesn’t see Ana Lucia. Either way, the question right now is, are those just random guilt-ridden hallucinations? Or, is it Libby trying to contact him, much like Charlie visiting Hurley near the Ho-Ho’s or at the Mental Hospital?

3) Early in season 3, Kate said that she wasn’t going to undress herself in front of him, and he replied with, “Don’t worry, you’re not my type”. Well, now we know what his type is. Meet Arturo. I wonder if Arturo has any clue what Tom is caught up in. Maybe he’s one of the Others. Does he know Tom is dead?

4) So, now the Island decides when you can or can’t die? Tom told Michael that the island won’t let him die. The gun jammed. Who knows? Maybe the pawn shop owner sold Michael a gun with a filed off firing pin. We’ll see what happens when Sawyer gets a hold of Michael. Will the island save him then?

5) Michael traded Mr. Paik’s watch (which Jin gave him) for a gun and some bullets. He was about to trade it for $300. Pretty sure if Jin finds out, he’ll actually kill Michael, as he didn’t finish the job when he wanted to kill Michael over the watch in season one.

6) Now Michael is one of the “Good Guys”? I don’t know. He was going to kill everyone on the boat. Has Michael ever been a good guy? He’s always kinda looked out for himself, even when it meant giving up Walt to be raised by another (it’s arguable, he was also allowing Walt a better life). At least now we know who sabotaged the communications equipment and why the engines won’t work. The question I have now is, has Michael had anything to do with those that have already died on the boat? Did he get into Regina’s head? Did he convince her to jump off the boat bound in the chains?

7) One of several cliff-hangers will be what Captain Gault does upon Sayid spilling the beans about Michael. I was waiting for him to say something like, “I already knew, because I’m working for Ben Linus too.”

8) Speaking of Sayid, he got a little PO’ed about Michael working for Ben. Which is ironic, because Sayid himself ends up working for Ben, as seen in his flashforward “The Economist” earlier this season.

9) Did Ben know, upon giving directions for Rousseau, Karl and Alex to go to the Temple, that
Rousseau and Karl would be killed? Somehow, I think he may have planned that. Actually, Karl might be dead, but I’m not so sure about Rousseau.

10) During the game show on the TV in Michael’s apartment, Kurt Vonnegut is the answer to one of the questions. His book “Slaughterhouse Five” has some similarities to LOST and its characters

11) From Lostpedia: The song playing in the car when Michael tries to kill himself is "It's Getting Better" by Cass Elliot, who also recorded "Make Your Own Kind of Music". “Make Your Own Kind of Music” is a song that has been in several episodes, which is a song dealing with making your own fate.

Alright…well here’s our little one month hiatus. Can’t wait for the new episodes. There will be five more episodes this season.

Ji Yeon (S4:E7)

Definitely a better episode than last week. But…but…Jin dies?!?!?!? WTF!!! His English was getting so good. I did like the use of flashbacks and flashforwards as a means to throw us off from the end of the episode.

1) So we get the final two of the Oceanic 6. Or do we? Jack (in the courtroom in “Eggtown”) said that there were 8 survivors of the crash. Could Jin, now that we know he’s in the “next life”, be one of the two that don’t make up the Oceanic 6? But what was the deal with Hurley asking if anyone else is coming? I’m starting to get this strange feeling…and I could be way off…that everyone knows, just as well as Sayid, that Ben is still lurking around.

2) What’s with Regina reading a book upside down? Last week, on Lostpedia, someone mentioned that the episode “The Other Woman” reminded them of “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” (click here to see the poem, or click here to see the Wikipedia page). Vozzek69 from DarkUFO mentioned that this episode resembled the poem. Which I agree a little more with (I chose not to mention the poem in last week’s notes). The poem is about a mariner who goes on a voyage at sea and the mishaps, and at one point the despair when they are stuck. It is eerily reminiscent of what Regina does when she binds herself in chains and jumps off the boat (which may or may not be moving) or the gruesome bloodstain on the wall (which was also reminiscent of Radzinsky’s blood in the hatch). ***BTW…Kudos to Vozzek69 from DarkUFO. While I don’t like everything he puts into his analysis, there are some times where he comes up with some thoughts that are great.***

3) The book Regina was reading upside down is titled “The Survivors of the Chancellor”. Credit a poster on Lostpedia for this description of the book “…a novel by Jules Verne about the last voyage of the British ship Chancellor. In the novel, at the beginning of its voyage, the Chancellor carried eight passengers and twenty crew members. By the end, only eleven people (five passengers and six crew) remained alive.”

4) So Captain Gault (the one they’re not supposed to trust) spills the beans (not just Lima Beans) to Sayid and Desmond (or so we are led to think). Could Ben really be capable of faking the crash or gathering the dead bodies? I mean…he has gassed a lot of people, but who knows. The black box should be interesting. But, it just seems a bit much to me that they even have the black box from that trench in the ocean.

5) Meet Kevin Johnson. He’s not just a janitor. He’s Michael. Any surprise? No, but it was a cool scene no matter how much one anticipated it. Did Desmond and Sayid do a good enough job of pretending they don’t know him?

6) Juliet doesn’t know who she’s messing with. Sun is the one that poisoned Michael’s water to keep Jin from going on the boat in season one. Juliet better think twice before airing Sun’s dirty laundry. However, this exchange gave us the scene with Bernard and Jin on the boat together, where they have the marriage conversation. I loved the part where Bernard realized what he’d just interrupted. That kind of scene never gets old.

7) Did anyone notice Nikki’s bad acting in her death scene in the show ‘Expose’ which was on TV in the background in Sun’s flashforward?

8) This is the second time that someone has referred to a dead person in a flashforward. First there was Jack asking his “colleague” to bring his father down from his office to see who’s more wasted. Now there was Sun calling for Jin while in labor.

9) On Jin’s Tombstone, it says Sept 22, 2004. The day of the plane crash. So maybe, Jin isn’t even one of the 8. In fact, I’m wondering if Jin’s death might even be a ruse and he’s still on the island. Sun says that she misses him, at the grave site. Could Jin still be alive? Then again, why would Hurley show up to see a grave. There is a possibility of an interesting spin here.

10) Again…going to directly quote Vozzek69’s stuff here, because this theory was definitely one worth mentioning. Click the link and read the part titled “Course Correction, Jake Gyllenhaal, and my own Wild Conjecture”

The Other Woman (S4:E6)

I could have used the sleep. Especially while trying to get over this bronchitis (TMI?). What did this episode REALLY tell us? That it's all about Juliet. ZZZZZZZZZZ

We also see that Ben is still somewhat in charge, regardless of his situation, much like when he was held in the hatch. But, please...did anyone get fooled into thinking Juliet was part of the Oceanic 6 up until Tom opened the door to the house?

1) Juliet seems to be a woman who attracts MANY men...Goodwin, Ben, Jack. If she could be as manipulative as women are made out to be on screen, she could be running that whole island. If she could be half as manipulative as Ben is with Locke...ugh...it's rather disappointing. She's also stepping on Kate's foot there, as she did with Harper.

2) In Ben's case, what did Harper mean when he said the Juliet looks like "her"? Ben once told Juliet that he chose her to deal with Jack because she resembled Jack's wife. Dude...Puh-lease tell me that Jack's wife didn't leave him for Ben. PUH-LEASE!!!! Maybe he means his mother, but that's kinda....blekh!!! What about the little girl Ben knew as a child, Annie?

3) Ben mentions that Juliet is getting along well with Zack and Emma (the two kids stolen from Eko and the Tailies back in Season 2). Does Juliet have a bond with them? Would she be willing to leave the island without them?

4) I liked the part where Ben asked if the rabbit had a number on it. Did anyone catch the Orchid Station Orientation video? Or see my post on it? You can see the video on the 3rd season DVDs.

5) Took this one from Lostpedia about the Tempest: "The name of the DHARMA station comes from the play written by William Shakespeare, which was first published in 1623. It tells the story of the sorcerer Prospero and his daughter Miranda, who are stranded on a mysterious desert island that has mystical properties. Prospero raises a storm, or tempest, which causes a passing ship containing his enemies to run aground. Using magic, spirits and a man-beast creature named Caliban, he separates and manipulate the survivors of the wreck for his own purposes. The play ends with Prospero restored to his former glory."

6) Did Ben want Ethan to die too? Is that why he sent Ethan? This theory now has potential.

7) Why do I get the feeling that Charles Widmore is the Economist? Eh...that was too easy. However, we got to see what we've been expecting. Widmore is behind the boat. So it's not Penny's boat. It's her daddy's. But, she calls the boat?!?!? Let's connect some dots. Charles Widmore wants to find Ben. He hires Matthew Abbadon to get a team together. He hired Naomi and the other misfits. What if Penny got to Naomi somehow? Naomi had a picture of Desmond and Penny in her book. I doubt Charles Widmore cares about Desmond enough to go find him like that. Oy vey!!! My head is spinning.

8) By the way...any doubt that Harper, seen in the jungle by Jack and Juliet, was the black smoke?

9) I won't give the name of the next episode, for those that don't want any spoilers...as it pretty much gives away who the next episode is about.

The Constant (S4:E5)

If last night didn’t make you fall in love with LOST again (if you ever fell out of love), then I question why you even watch the show. I watched the episode with people much smarter than myself last night, and they had great insights which will be lumped into the list below. Oh, and a shout out to Omar, played by Anthony Azizi (better known to most that knew him as Kamal Rowshan). Some of you will recognize him as two different terrorists (in two different seasons) on ‘24’. He also died both times.

The best comment last night was when someone mentioned that they love Desmond episodes. I too am a fan of Desmond episodes, and last night’s episode might have been the best of the entire series (in my opinion). Anyway…the scene where Desmond spoke to Penelope, in effect finding his Constant, was theatre/TV/etc. at its best. 1996 Desmond nodding as if he knew things were back to “normal”, 2004 Desmond on the phone mentioning the island, it was all done amazingly. Kudos to the LOST cast, crew and directors. We finally have Some Answered Questions. We finally closed the loop on some open issues.

Shall we?

1. Raise your hand if you were a fan of Quantum Leap. Last night reminded some of us of that great TV show. While it didn’t exactly match up, it was as if Desmond was doing a Quantum Leap within himself, except that it was 1996 Desmond leaping back and forth, while 2004 Desmond was somewhere in limbo. Another tribute to the 80’s was Daniel’s little argument that you can’t change the future. This kinda reminded me of Dr. Emmitt Brown (Christopher Llyod) in Back to the Future. Dr. Brown made a huge fuss about acts changed in the past that impact the future, causing a break from the time continuum, causing an alternate reality. This begs the question (now that we know the future can change): Are the Flash-Forwards that we’ve seen no longer a reality?

2. In the Desmond episode where he flashes back to an alternate past, he speaks to Mrs. Hawking from the jewelry store. She says events are structured and that the universe will correct itself. This sort of hurts the above argument with alternate realities.

3. “If anything goes wrong, Desmond Hume is my constant.” While this is easily explainable, I think it touches a little on Daniel’s character. He said it himself. A Constant is someone you care about. Has Desmond had enough impact on Daniel’s life for Daniel to care about him? On another note, does 2004 Daniel now remember the encounter in 1996? Regardless, this foreshadows possible time-leaps by Daniel and/or other people Losties (Foundies?). Daniel is exposed to radiation more often than the normal individual. Could this explain Daniel’s difficulties on the island? He had trouble with the memory game that Charlotte played with him. Has Daniel been having flash-times? When we first met him, he was in his chair cowering over news of the crash. Was that a vision of Daniel having a “Flash-Time”???? He went through that same storm in the helicopter. He’s been exposed to radiation. Or was it Daniel from 1996 that had met Desmond, and knew what the crash was all about…?

4. Charlotte and Daniel have a closer connection than we think. Plus, there’s the part where Charlotte got her PhD at Oxford, and now we find out that Daniel taught there.

5. Does this episode kind of explain why Desmond was in Military Prison? He left the military to visit Daniel, although he told Penny that he had a couple of days off starting the evening of the day he was in the phone booth talking to her. If I’m not mistaken, Desmond stays with Penny and they rekindle something, because not only did he end up in Military Prison while Penny was in love with him (her father tried to pay him off to leave upon his release, and leave his daughter alone). Also, it is mentioned that the picture with Desmond and Penny takes place close to where she lives at the following address.

6. According to some posters, Penelope’s address (423 Cheyne Walk in London) is the same street that Mick Jagger lives on. Supposedly, that’s where Widmore Corp is too.

7. George Minkowski mentioned that whenever Penelope would call, there would be flashing lights. This is similar to what Charlie witnessed when he talked to her. If it’s “NOT PENNY’S BOAT”, then why/how is she in contact?

8. Here’s some “coincidences” with numbers listed on Lostpedia: 1996 and 2004 Desmond are 8 years apart. Penny’s address 423 Cheyne Walk (4, 23 & 42). Daniel’s frequency is 2.342 (23 & 42). Black Rock Diary action number 2342 (23 & 42).

9. Another nice one from Lostpedia: George Minkowski died from the lack of a constant. “Minkowski’s Constant,” a.k.a. Minkowski's theorem, is the foundation of geometry of numbers.

10. Lostpedia is on fire. In the film “Donnie Darko”, water is used to construct a portal for time travel. Desmond’s flash-times are water-centric. He’s around sinks, rain and the ocean.

11. Apparently, off the island, it is December 24, but on the island it is December 26, according to day counters that people have had going for the series.

12. One of the more interesting theories that I’ve heard about Ben’s “Man on the Boat” is that it’s Sayid, working for Ben. Would it be freakish if Sayid were to run into himself. Others think it is Kelvin (the guy that was in the hatch with Desmond) or Michael.

13. The doctor on the boat gives Minkowski a shot. Is it the same shot that Desmond was taking in the hatch, and that we’ve seen numerous characters receive as well? Is it some sort of serum that doesn’t allow time displacement? Is what Desmond experienced, what Rousseau called “The Sickness”? Is this how Rousseau’s crew died? Why didn’t Rousseau die? Two amazing points made by Lostpedia posters on this topic: a) “The research Rousseau’s team was doing involved exposure to radiation, which Danielle avoided while she was pregnant. This explains how she was the only member of the team who was not affected as they approached the island.”; b) “This could be why pregnant women died on the island before giving birth. Their child starts to experience consciousness-travel (to the future when they are adults) before even being born and thus dying without finding their constant and killing the mother with him creating a paradox.”

14. Is Jack experiencing this in the future? Is that why he thought his dad was still alive? Is that why he feels he needs to go back to the island? Or…wait…could Christian Shepherd just be stuck in a time jump?

15. This brings me to a theory that I’ve been trying to prove since season one. That Christian is alive…and once again Vozzek69 of DarkUFO fame has summed it up perfectly: “Taking this into consideration, what if the plane crashed before September 22nd 2004? We’ve seen time differentials of 31 seconds and even a whole day now – who’s to say it couldn’t span a week or more? As we saw with Desmond, the consciousness is transferred but the body stays the same. So what if (and get ready to be totally creeped out here…) what if the plane crashed during a period in time when Christian Shephard was still alive? What if the only place his consciousness had to go was into his current body, tucked neatly away in the coffin that turned up empty on impact? Could this explain why Jack kept seeing him? Could this explain why Jacob looked like him for that brief instant, yet still looks like an embalmed corpse? Yikes.”

16. This episode basically opened a whole new door. Are the flashbacks really flashbacks, or is it the actual characters doing their own time-jumps??? I have to hand it to the writers of this series who have once-again managed to turn this whole story on it’s side.

17. And now, I leave you with an oft-used statement in this series, whether it’s said in different ways or languages, which now takes on a whole new meaning, “See you in another life.”

Eggtown (S4:E4)

Eggtown: A sales term for a town/city/area where trying to make deals only has undesirable outcomes. This has some historical reference to eggs and the prohibition. Salesmen who wanted to either warn another salesman about a town not worth making deals in, or wanted to keep a town for themselves by keeping other salesmen away would call the town an "Eggtown".

1) 8 survivors of the plane crash? We know 4 of the Oceanic 6 (Jack, Kate, Sayid and Hurley). Who are the 4 other crash survivors? I'm assuming they will say they died on the island. I'm assuming Claire is not going to be one of the 8, because they are hiding Aaron's identity as Kate's child. What are we to assume with Claire? Would she have parted with her child, to give him a better life? Obviously, if that is the case...she stayed on the island unwillingly, if she's still alive. Is Aaron one of the Oceanic 6? Maybe by default, he isn't because he wasn't born until after the crash.

2) Does anyone remember Desmond's premonition last season, where he sees Claire getting on the helicopter with Aaron and leaving the island? Do you think, maybe, Claire dies before ever getting rescued? Some of the theorists out there think that Jack doesn't want to see Aaron, because he has a hand in Claire's death (accident or not), and that Aaron will remind him of his sister.

3) On another note, in Claire's first flashback episode ever ("Raised by Another" S1:E10), she visits the psychic, Richard Malkin. He tells her that it is imperative that she raises the child herself, because Claire is a good person and she must influence her goodness on her child. When she tells him that she is giving him up for adoption, Richard tells her it's not a good idea. Well...now Aaron is being raised by another...I wonder if this will play out at all.

4) Again, we get hints of a time displacement. The chopper hasn't reached the boat yet, and it's been about a day since they left. However, this is more than 31 minutes. Next episode has to clear this up. There are too many questions at this point.

5) Loved this little tidbit from Lostpedia: Shawn Doyle (Duncan Forrester) previously worked with Elisabeth Mitchell (Juliet Burke) in the film "Frequency". The film involved time travel where Doyle's character, a serial killer named Jack Shepard, is prevented from killing Mitchell's character.

6) "You just totally Scooby-Doo'ed me." Hurley and Sawyer as roomies. Monetzuma? As in the Montezuma's Revenge...cuz the toilet flushed?!?!? Honestly, I think you have to be a LOST fan to find this stuff so funny...but I don't know what was said after this as I was trying not to fall off the couch from laughter.

7) Interesting thoughts by some posters. Part of the story with Jack, Kate and Aaron is that Jack, being Aaron's uncle, might actually pass a paternity test. The cover would be that Jack is Aaron's father, and that is why he was brought to trial.

8) Looks like Daniel is suffering from memory issues on the island. He couldn't remember the third card in the test of memory. One poster mentioned that Daniel had difficulty remembering his name in the episode where he landed on the island. I have to go back and watch this again, but I seem to remember him being a little groggy. But, that could have just been the fact that he just parachuted out of a chopper that he didn't want to jump out of.

9) I thought for a while that Charlotte was Ben's "Man on the boat". However, now I have little doubt that Miles is Ben's "Man on the boat". Miles wanted privacy, but Kate wouldn't leave. He wanted $3.2 million. A strange number. He argued over time of delivery (3 days...one week). Could this have been a code between them?

10) So we're back to backgammon, and black and white. The dark side, the light side. Locke used the white pieces in season 1. He's using the black pieces now, as he's gone to the dark side. Alternatively, Sawyer used white...and it seems he's gone to the light side. Our very own Han Solo.

11) Did Locke take Ben's old role...and is his posse playing out the role of the Others? If another plane crashed on the island...they would find themselves playing out the role of the Others, and the new Crash Victims would be like the original Losties. This show seems to be all about loops (time loops, plot loops, etc).

12) The book that Locke gives to Ben is called VALIS. VALIS stands for Vast Active Living Intelligence System. The book is about an ancient, mechanical intelligence orbiting the earth that has been guiding people’s thoughts.

13) Xanadu has several references: 1. The movie about a man who crosses over into another dimension. 2. A poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, about a famous tropical paradise. 3. The name of Charles Foster Kane's mansion in "Citizen Kane".

14) The Book Sawyer is reading is The Invention of Morel. It is a story about a fugitive who hides on a deserted island in the South Pacific.

15) On a side-note. I have not forgotten the other Others. Ben sent them to the "Temple" with Richard. How long until they make an appearance?

16) The scenes from the next episode had a short haired Desmond talking to Daniel. So either he gets a haircut on the boat, or next week is a Desmond episode. The next episode is named, "The Constant"

The Economist (S4:E3)

So...I'm at the NEBY Fest in Stamford, CT. Decided to skip out on some sleep to get this out earlier than mid-next week, and enjoy the Music and Festivities this weekend. This will be a short version. I may update at some point if I can get some time.

Let's...some questions answered...even more arose. Sayid gave us a surprise in the beginning and the end of this episode. Ben became even more sinister. I was really hoping Sayid would have reconnected with Nadia, or at least she would have been in the background or something. But, great episode nonetheless

1) Why was Sayid crying in the end? Was it the pain from the bullet? Was it the fact that he killed a woman that he fell for? My guess is that he's thinking just like Jack and Hurley have shown in their flash-forwards...that he must go back to the island. My prediction is that we'll have a Kate flash-forward sometime soon, and at some point we will either overtly or covertly see Kate's desire to go back to the island. I'm also guessing this season will end with the Oceanic 6 getting back to the island. Another theory I've seen out there is that it was because Elsa resembled Shannon, and that they both died from gunshot wounds to the mid-section.

2) From Sayid's own mouth: "...the day I start trusting him is the day I will disown my soul." The "him" he was referring to was Ben. Looks like Sayid ended up disowning his soul.

3) Best Line of the show, "Great, the ship sent us another Sawyer." This is what he said after Miles called him "Tubby"

4) A New Zealander posting on the message boards claims that the New Zealand passport that was seen in the drawer that Sayid opened was a diplomatic red-colored passport. Not the regular white-colored one.

5) Looks like Jacob doesn't like being told where to be. I'm guessing Jacob can only be seen when he wants to be. Locke was frustrated that he didn't find Jacob. However, he also played it off half-decently to the group, when they were about to ask him "What the F...?"

6) Elsa had a pager. Her boss, "The Economist" likes pagers. Doctors still use pagers. Could her boss be Christian Sheppard? However, with Naomi's and Elsa's matching bracelets leads many to think that they both worked for Matthew Abbadon.

7) Daniel's little experiment puts the theory of a bend in the time continuum on the island some merit. It was about 31 minutes and some change. Did anyone notice that Elsa said "You were supposed to call me at 10:30"? Upon some translation by a German, they left out the subtitle for the rest of what she said. She actually said, "You were supposed to call me at 10:30, not 10:00". Off by ~30 minutes...

8) There's a VERY LOOSE theory making circles that the voice you first hear when Sayid is getting the gunshot wound looked at was none other than Christian Sheppard's voice. The theory is that people are saying that Ben and Christian are the same person.

9) Is Charlotte actually Ben's "man" on the boat? He knew a lot about her, and he knew enought to know he could shoot her and she'd have a bullet-proof vest on.

Update on Confirmed Dead (S4:E2)

This guy is amazing. He writes a weekly piece on the DARKUFO site, and I just couldn't pass up an opportunity for you guys to read his stuff on Confirmed Dead. He goes by the name of Vozzek69, and I regularly reference his material on this site. He is one of those that I refer to as "people much more intelligent than me".

This time...reading through his piece on Confirmed Dead, I figured everyone should read what he had to say. Either that, or I was going to have to reference every bit of this particular write-up. You can find it here.

Confirmed Dead (S4:E2)

Four new characters!?!? They threw them right into the mix. Interesting back stories on all four (plus a little more about Naomi). Let’s jump right in. Here are the things I noticed, and things that much smarter people than I, from other sites, noticed as well.

1) I have now set my DVR to record 5 minutes after the show. I found out that I missed the commercial after the episode (prior to, or maybe even part of, the premier of Eli Stone). There is an Oceanic commercial talking about the golden pass which takes you anywhere you want to go. This is the same golden ticket that Jack talked about in Through the Looking Glass. Then a man starts talking in the middle of the commercial saying to not trust Oceanic and that he found flight 815. Then they show an Oceanic plane under the ocean. Is Oceanic trying to cover things up? Are they working with Hanso and the others in on this plot? You see the website flyoceanicair.com. then for a split second it shows find815.com. If you go to www.flyoceanicair.com you will see a more robust message from the man interrupting the Oceanic commercial. Then find815.com seems to be a work in progress.

2) We kick things off with underwater footage of the dummy airplane. The scene then cuts to Daniel Faraday, who’s crying, and claims he doesn’t know why. However, we see that this is a common theme with Daniel. He’s always afraid. He was afraid to jump out of the helicopter (prompting Miles to push him out). He has a fearful demeanor when dealing with Jack and Kate. Obviously he has some sort of gift or skill that made him important for this mission. But, what is it? Daniel shows that fear again when they find the metal box with the gas mask and other supplies. But, we finally cut to the chase when Daniel says that saving the Losties isn’t their primary objective.

3) From Lostpedia: Michael Faraday was an English chemist and physicist who contributed to electromagnetism as a field of study. From Wikipedia: "He established that magnetism could affect rays of light and that there was an underlying relationship between the two phenomena." In this episode, Daniel Faraday comments on abnormalities in the light rays on the island.

4) Enter Miles Straume. I liked the part where he asked to be taken to Naomi’s body, because he’ll know whether Jack & Co. killed her or not. His flashback was a little spookier. Miles seems to be some sort of medium between the real world and the spirit world. How the money and drugs in the bag behind the bookcase played into that scene was a little strange. I would think that what he did wouldn’t release a ghost from a house, but I’m not an expert on these matters.

5) I like how Locke revealed that he got his orders from a taller Walt. Could they be bringing Walt back into the fold? Maybe that’s their way of explaining the child actor’s growth spurt over the last few years.

6) Charlotte Staples Lewis, eh? Like Clives Staples Lewis? Better known as C.S. Lewis, author of the Chroni(what)cles of Narnia. Anyway…Charlotte’s flashback shows us that she is one of those characters that she may know a lot more about what’s going on with the island than she’s leading on. She obviously wasn’t surprised about finding polar bear bones in Tunisia, and seemed like she expected to find the Dharma logo (Hydra) on the collar that was previously around the polar bear’s neck. She had enough foresight to know that Ben might try to kill her. You don’t just randomly wear a bullet-proof vest.

7) Frank Lapidus, was supposed to be the pilot of 815. I liked the part where Miles and Daniel ask him where the helicopter crashed, and he told them that he’s a good pilot and did not crash it. This is a bit of an anomaly, as everything that comes within the vicinity of the island crashes on it. Though the original hatch and the magnetic force is blamed for the previous crashes, this comment brings an interesting point. Had Frank been piloting 815, would it have crashed? He obviously realizes that there is a cover up as well (with Seth Norris and the lack of a ring on his supposed body).

8) So Ben has a man on the boat. He knows all about their mission. I wonder if it’s Minkowski. Minkowski’s voice kept changing on the phone depending on who he spoke with on Naomi’s phone in the premier episode. This remains to be seen. Whoever it is, they’ve done their research on the members of the mission. Another genius from Lostpedia had this to post: The name Minkowski is a reference to Hermann Minkowski, the mathematician who pioneered the idea of 4-dimensional space-time.

9) Finally, we came to the flashback with Naomi and Matthew Abaddon. This may debunk the theory that Abaddon is the black smoke. Naomi says that she doesn’t have the right team, calling them a head case, a ghostbuster, an anthropologist and a drunk. But Abaddon tells her that they were all chosen for specific reasons. Abaddon also mentions that there are no survivors. However, here’s my take. These are four people who may have a clue as to what really happened, and Abaddon is sending them onto the island with Naomi to eventually leave them there.

10) Try calling the Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 Hotline Number 1-888-548-0034. You get a recording, however they’re really covering their bases on this show.

11) If Ben has been on the island his entire life, who got his picture off the island and eventually into Miles’s hands.?

12) I also love how Locke’s life is indirectly saved by his con-man father. If he had a kidney where he was shot, he would have died.

13) We also notice that both Locke and Ben know what Hurley was talking about with Jacob’s cabin. Yet, neither acknowledges it. Now they both know that Hurley has come across Jacob.

There is more to be read up on, but wanted to get something out there. I’ll add more if there is more to mention.

The Beginning of the End (S4:E1)

It feels like it’s been a year since we saw a new episode of LOST. Oh wait, it almost has been a year. Anyway…it was nice to get back into the swing of things. The Hurley-centric episode was a nice way to start things off, especially with the car chase with the car that Hurley and his father started working on together. Well, here we go again.

Some of the things I noticed (with a little help from other websites on stuff I might have missed):

1) Back to Flash-Forwards. We see Jack watching Hurley’s chase on television. This obviously took place before Jack’s Flash-Forward from last season. He knew Hurley well enough to know that it was him when they said it was a Camaro. The best part was Randy standing there with a camera, filming the crash at the end of the chase. Yes, the same Randy that was Locke’s boss at the box company and Hurley’s boss at the Chicken Shack. I wonder what it was like to see his former employee getting taken down by the police.

2) So, who are the “Oceanic 6”? I have my theories (we’ve also had Matthew Fox spoil this for many that saw a certain interview). We know Jack, Kate and Hurley are 3 of them. We know that this was the “lying” that Jack told Kate he was tired of in last season’s finale. But, lying about what? Did the other Losties die in a bloodbath? Did they get left behind? So many questions. Jack wouldn’t have willingly left anyone behind just to have his own freedom. It’s not in his character. Kate might. Hurley might. I guess this will have to be seen.

3) In the interrogation room, the cop that was friends with Ana Lucia leaves and Hurley sees Charlie in the one-way mirror as if he’s swimming towards it. When Charlie places his hand on the mirror (similar to the end of last season) he has something written on it. “THEY NEED YOU”. Who is “they”?

4) When Hurley gets lost and ends up at Jacob’s cabin, he looks in the window, and who is sitting there? None other than Christian Shephard (Jack’s father). The eye he saw through the crack could have been Jacob. I’ve seen some mention that it was Locke. At first, I thought it was Jin, and that the group Hurley had lost ended up finding the hut and had gone inside to investigate. Someone even mentioned that it looked like Ben’s dad’s eye.

5) Vozzek (one of the most insightful posters on DarkUFO) had this to say, which I found interesting: “More importantly, why does Jacob seek an audience with Hurley? It could be because of the faith thing I just mentioned, but it could also be because Hurley is one of the few constants the island can’t touch. At least twice, Hurley has stated “I’m not supposed to be here”. In Locke’s sweat-tent dream vision Hurley is the only 815’er not making his way on board the plane. In season one he arrives at the gate and the stewardess says “I don’t think you’re supposed to make this flight, hon”. Without going into this too deeply, I’ll repeat my assertion that Hurley has always been untouchable – both on and off the island – because he was never part of the original equation. Maybe the island would rather just have him gone. Maybe this is why Hurley is later allowed to leave as one of the ‘Oceanic Six’.”

6) Intense moment when everyone arrives at the cockpit of the plane. When Locke tells Jack that Jack won’t shoot him, Jack pulls the trigger. He had no idea the gun wasn’t loaded. So basically, Locke is dead to Jack. This can send the rivalry into a much worse place than it has already been. We saw the divide happen when Locke made his case to the Losties. We even saw Sawyer and Kate part ways. Ben’s comment asking Jack if he can go with Locke was one of many funny quotes by the Chief Other.

7) Who is Matthew Abbadon? That may not even be his real name. He showed up at Hurley’s mental institute offering him a better place. When he cuts to the chase and says “Are they alive?”, we once again come back to the questions that came up several times in this episode. Did people choose to stay in the end? Was that to protect them? Was it to hide some sort of massacre? Lostpedia had this tidbit: Abbadon is the name for the angel of the Abyss in Revelation. This angel does the work of God in binding Satan and hurling him into the Abyss. He basically was the keeper of the Realm of the Dead. In Hebrew, Abbadon means “The Place of Destruction”. My favorite part of this is that there’s a place in Iran called Abaddon, I think.

8) Another poster points out on DarkUFO that Abaddon was the Black Smoke Monster. As he leaves the room, you don’t see him, but his shadow kinda disappears in the same way the Black Smoke Monster would disappear.

9) Is Charlie Hurley’s new imaginary friend? Has he replaced Dave? Lewis, the other mental patient was able to see Charlie. What was with Charlie’s hair when he showed up at Hurley’s mental facility? What is it that Charlie insists Hurley knows what to do about? Obviously, these questions throughout the episode are tied to one thing (which will be one of the underlying themes of the season). I like how he counted to five to make Charlie disappear, much like he did to make Jacob’s cabin disappear.

10) Hurley should try out for the NBA. He swished every shot he took. Can’t say the same for Jack, who can’t hit the broad side of a barn. Anyway…Jack foreshadows (or is that back-shadows) his beard. They have an exchange. Hurley apologizes for going with Locke, saying it was a mistake. He also talks about going back. I think he said “he” will do whatever it takes to bring them back. Who is he?

11) Anyone like the part where Jack says “We’re never going back”? Especially, since in the season finale “Through the Looking Glass” he tells Kate, “We have to go back”

12) Another little easter egg that someone posted on Lostpedia: While playing horse with Hurley, Jack gets the letters "H" and "O". "H" is the 8th letter of the alphabet and "O" is the 15th – 815. Behind Hurley as he’s freaking out over Abbadon there’s a small sculpture of the letters ‘HO’ on a shelf. Hurley mentions Charlie’s ghost showing up in the convenience store right next to the “Ho Ho’s”. I guess those are more references to the numbers, yet a little more hidden. They’re going to make this part fun, aren’t they?

Orchid Station Orientation

1) Once again, Marvin Candle uses another alias. Dr. Edgar Halowax.

2) The rabbit he's holdng has a number 15 on it. They're going to beat those numbers to death.

3) He mentions "...as you know, Station 6 is not a botanical research center..." and also talks about apologizing for asking them to decieve their families and colleagues.

4) All hell breaks loose when they notice the rabbit #13 in the room. Someone says to keep them apart.

5) While getting makeup done before the video, Candle mentions that he's "...a scientist, not a..." before the video cuts. Assuming that he's going to say he's not an actor, this solidifies his role as part of the initiative. Hopefully we'll learn more about him during the season.

6) At about 1:09 on the video, something flashes on the screen. I've tried several times to pause it at the right time to see what it says...but you have to start the video from the beginning...and I don't have the patience right now. I'll try again later.

Adventures of Hurley & Frogert (MP2)

This one involves Hurley and Neil (Frogert) who was mentioned at some point during the season. They have an exchange in Bernard and Rose's tent as it seems like Hurley is stealing a bottle of wine from their tent. Frogert wants a shot at Libby, because he doesn't think Hurley has a chance.

1) This is what happens shortly before Libby is shot by Michael in the hatch.

2) The Lost writers have hinted at Frogert having a role in Season 4.

The Watch (MP1)

The first of the missing pieces videos (a.k.a. "Mobisodes"), is a scene with Jack and Christian on the beach prior to Jack's wedding. Here are some things that myself and other Losties have noticed:

1) We know about the various "Father Issues" that characters have. Do the characters possibly have mother issues too? Jack has no problem with the fact that his father says he made a mistake in marrying Jack's mother. While we haven't truly seen whether she's there or not, we have only seen her when she asks Jack to go find his father in Australia. There has yet to be a mention of whether she attends Jack's wedding. Maybe something to watch for. Kate has mother issues. So does Locke. We all saw what a winner Jin's mother was. Claire may have killed her mother (in the accident). Walt's mom died. Sawyer's mother was shot by his father, because of her involvement with Locke's father. Shannon's mother died, and she had issues with her stepmother (Boone's mother). Hurley's mom hasn't really done much except take Hurley's father back when he may have been back for the money. Ben's mother died giving birth to him. Could season 4 have something to do with the mother issues?

2) The only other thing I can take away now is that Jack's grandfather may not have been good to Christian. So Christian has father issues too. Could this be foreshadowing into flashbacks for Christian?

Through the Looking Glass (S:3;E:22)

1) I'm going to toot my horn for a second. As soon as I saw Jack with the beard, I told my friends I was watching the finale with "That's the future". Then there was the part where he was distraught on the bridge and makes a phone call, calling the person in the voicemail "Annie". Annie who? Ben's childhood girlfriend, or Kate's alias from Season 1? (EDITOR'S NOTE: In the official transcript it says "JACK: Hey. It's me. I er, I just read... " and not "Annie, it's me", so even though my little "Annie" theory got killed, I'll leave it here anyway. Thanks Summy for pointing that out)

2) Jack asked if Dr. Hamill would like Jack to get his father. Is his father alive?!?!?! It's easy to look over that part, because at the time, many thought it was a flashback, and not a flash-forward.

3) Who is the man in the casket? We can drive ourselves crazy thinking of that over the next 9 months, while LOST is on vacation. Kate asks why she would even go to the viewing, when Jack asks her. It could be Ben. It could be Locke, she wasn't close to him. Who knows. I think it might have even been Sawyer.

3.5) Anyone like how the name of the funeral parlor "Hoffs / Drawlar" is an anagram for "flash forward".

4) So Kate is using her alias "Annie" again. Does that mean she's still a fugitive? Did she get a presidential pardon and a new identity? Again...another question that could be discussed for the next nine months.

5) We saw all the maps in Jack's apartment. It looked like he may have triangulated a position in one of the maps.

6) Kurt Cobain died on April 5th. The obituaties in the LA Times that Jack was reading was from April 5th. Before he went to the funeral parlor, he was listening to Nirvana's "Scentless Apprentice"

7) Again...as LOSTpedia points out...there were more references to Stephen King's Dark Tower Series. Most likely because the LOST writers will be doing the movie for the Gunslinger...the first book in the Dark Tower series.

8) Not sure if the non-nickname using Sawyer is as good as the old Sawyer. Althought the line where he said something like "That's for taking the kid from the boat," was great.

9) Did anyone notice the woman sitting in the seat behind Jack in the first scene, was the same woman sitting behind him in the first episode of the entire series?!!?!?!?

10) Ben is "special", so was Walt, Locke too. Ben can see Jacob. Locke can talk to Jacob. Walt can project his image. That brings me to Aaron. Is Aaron special? He sensed when Charlie died.

11) One of the contributors on LOSTpedia asks this question (this is going with the theory of an alternate reality): Why is Oceanic in the flash forward still operating? On the website of Oceanic, the following statement is shown: "After 25 years of service, we are forced to close our doors. Due to financial difficulties in the wake of the Flight 815 tragedy, we are no longer able to sustain service. We are deeply sorry that we can no longer serve our loyal customers, and apologize for any inconvenience our decision will cause."

12) By the way...I give kudos to the writers, actors and anyone involved with Charlie's death scene. Everything leading up to it (especially Charlie's conversation with Bonnie and Greta) was epic. It's a shame that in a character's death, he becomes the most likeable character in a show.

13) My theory is that next season, they're saved early on. We get to see their lives back in society, with flashbacks to the island. Or a variation of that...like seeing the island, and having flash-forwards.

14) Anyway...Next episode is....well....nine months away. I'm sure this won't be the last blog until next season. Check back for updates.

1) Great episode! For a while I LOST my liking for Charlie. Last night, I found myself engaged in the episode. Charlie's character took a huge step forward in my book (I have a book?!?!).

2) Charlie's Greatest Hits:

GH#1: "The first time I heard myself on the radio."

Charlie was ready to quit the band. We start to see his brother's need to have Charlie around (most likely to feed his heroin habit). In previous Charlie flashbacks we saw Liam turn down Charlie, when Charlie needed Liam around, to feed his heroin habit.

GH#2: "Dad teaching me to swim at Butlins."

Little Charlie is scared to jump into the pool, fearing that his father won't catch him. His father wants him to face his fears, foreshadowing later events in the episode when Charlie faces his fear of death. Of course Liam antagonizes by saying their father won't catch Charlie. In fact, his father doesn't catch him, representing the fact that Charlie has had to do everything on his own. In the background, we hear, "Desmond, Come here"

GH#3: "The Christmas Liam gave me the ring."

Liam begins to see that he's faltering. He feels that Charlie is more suitable to carry on the family legacy with the DS ring (Dexter Stratton..."Drive Shaft"). He says that Charlie is more likely to have his own family (though we saw in an earlier episode that Liam in fact has a family later on).

GH#4: "A woman outside Convent Garden calls me a hero."

We see the same scene that Desmond interrupted in his episode "Flashes Before Your Eyes". In that episode, Desmond shows up right when Charlie is singing the line, "You're gonna be the one that saves me." Queue the rain (sans Desmond in this version). Charlie packs up and bolts. Apparently there's a sticker on Charlie's guitar that says "I was here moments ago." He sees a girl getting mugged in an alley, takes a second to decide, then fights off the mugger (who gives Charlie a strange look and runs...maybe he'll resurface). Lo and behold, the girl is Nadia, Sayid's girl. I wonder if Sayid will ever thank Charlie for that. Nadia calls Charlie a hero, which he seems to take some pride in afterwards.

Great stuff about the 4th Greatest Hit from Vozzek69 (from DarkUFO's blog): "Charlie's fourth flashback was by far the most interesting. We see him on the day he met Desmond, and once again the writers use color (or lack of color) to illustrate some points.

Once the rain starts (important), many of the things we see here are black and white. The words CONVENT and GARDEN appear as white signs, but in between we see a black sign with the word UNDERGROUND. The camera lingers on a black car and a white car. In the alley, Nadia struggles with a mugger. Nadia's wearing white, the mugger - all black.

Charlie pauses at first, then decides to help. The mugger looks a lot like his brother, or even Charlie - they're both dressed in the same black outfit. This is Charlie facing himself. The dark figure retreats down the alley. Even at such a rough time in his life Charlie makes the decision to be the better person. Nadia reminds him of this, telling him that no matter what anyone tells him he'll always be a hero.

The black/white, dark/light, good/evil imagery in LOST hasn't let up a bit. If anything it's gotten more and more prominent."

GH#5: "The day I met you."

We see the first moment of Claire and Charlie's relationship.

3) Is Charlie going to do what 2pac can't? Imagine Drive Shaft's record sales when he returns from the dead. Looks like anyone can become an icon if they die young. Kurt Cobain?

4) So how many people thought Charlie was going to die when he swam down into the Looking Glass station through the Moon Pool? Maybe he will, if Bonnie and Greta decide to shoot him. Desmond's vision may still come true, if the air pressure in the Looking Glass is compromised. We can still lose Charlie. Also...the wight belt represents the people in Charlie's life, especially his family, who all brought him down.

5) Speaking of "Into the Looking Glass" , it's a book by John Ringo. It's about a huge explosion in Florida which opens alternate realities. Hmmm...coincidence? I think not. Yes...it's also a reference to Alice in Wonderland. White Rabbit. "Through the Looking Glass", Alice's portal into another world. Also, check out the book "The Moon Pool", apparently it's very similar to LOST.

6) Is the DS ring a jinx? Is Aaron (or Claire) jinxed now?

7) Will Alex and Rousseau's reunion happen before Season 4?

8) Next week is the FINALE!!!! The episode is called "Through the Looking Glass" I think it's obvious that Jack's flashbacks are the theme of the 2 hour long episode. Apparently, be it during real time events or in flashbacks, we're supposed to have a monumental reveal about Jack.

1) Ben wasn't born on the island (or what might or might not be an island?)...he was born 32 miles from Portland (Gales, Oregon? Henry Gale?), and Roger the Work Man was Roger Linus, who is Ben's father.

2) So what was with the little girl, Annie, offering young Ben an Apollo Bar, saying they can have as many as they like (kinda like Hurley as a kid...right?)? Is the Apollo Bar something that is part of the experiments they do on the island? And here's the question...did they bring Roger there for work, or did they want Ben for the experiments? Horace seemed to be a little more interested in Ben (and Horace looks like a female too...an ugly one at that).

2a) In Season One, Kate uses the name Annie in "Tabula Rasa". Many people thinking there is a parallel.

3) During the war-like scene when Ben is in his classroom, the Dharma people seem pretty confident that they'll protect themselves from the hostiles. Guess not, in the end.

4) Ben's sees his mother, Emily (Hey, Locke's mother was Emily too). He also sees Jacob. Is Ben special? Did Dharma know about this before he was brought to the island with his father, or was it just an accident? Ben seems to be special in the way Walt was special. And they definitely wanted Walt.

5) How does a young kid get the deactivation code for the sonic pylon fence?

6) Richard Alpert was the one that Ben ran into in the forest. Richard has been an "Other" longer than Ben has. He sure has aged much better than Ben has. What's the deal there...what power does Richard have? Anyone see that one Star Trek movie where they ended up on the planet where the people don't age? They are born there...they grow to about the age of 25-30, and then never age again. Then people who were banished, and were growing old were trying to gain control of the planet to stop their people from dying. Is this what they mean by being LOST in time? Is that what is LOST? The title may not refer to the people being LOST after a plane crash, rather that time is LOST.

7) So Ben killed his father, in tandem with the rest of the Hostiles killing all the Dharma-ites. Looks like Ben has Daddy Issues too. Is this why he wanted Locke to kill his father? At least Alex remembers his birthday...so he won't kill her. Does that mean that both of Ben's parents died on his birthday?

8) Mikhail's return, followed by him saying that the sonic fence wasn't set to "lethal". That kills the theory that the dead come back to life on the island.

9) What was that grey powder that lock played with before crossing its threshold?

10) This Jacob guy is a real tree-hugger. He doesn't like technology???? What kind of man is he? We do see him for a split second (see picture below).

11) Did Alex give Locke the gun, because she knew Ben was going to shoot him? Does Ben kill people he takes there, and then blames it on Jacob? Does Ben want Jacob all to himself?

12) Thank Lostpedia for these biblical references: Ben's mother dies giving birth to him and giving him a name. In Genesis 35, Rachel dies after giving birth to Benjamin and giving him the name Ben-oni which means the "son of my sorrow". Jacob a.k.a Israel then changes his son's name to Benjamin, which means "son of my right hand".

Ben throws Locke in a pit out of apparent jealousy over the favor of Jacob. In Genesis 37, Joseph's brothers throw him into a pit, because they are envious that Joseph has the favor of their father Jacob. Presumably, Benjamin was among the brothers who attacked Joseph in the biblical account.

13) Also from Lostpedia: The plot element of DHARMA arrivals being assigned their new jobs -- and one being angry about it -- is reminiscent of the protagonist Equality 7-2521 in Ayn Rand's novella Anthem. He wanted to be a scholar, and was in fact a brilliant scientist, but was assigned to be a street sweeper. My thoughts...I loved that book. I read it back in 9th grade and forgot the title. Now that I remember it, I'll have to go out and get a copy. It was all about people being bred to do work, and to be controlled. Apparently Liberty 30948573048543 (I forget the number) breaks free of that rule and creates a life outside of that controlled society.

14) A lot of dog references in this episode. Will we see Vincent again? Does he play a significant role?

15) I leave you with this final bit: Is Jacob the Monster? We saw from his silhouette that Jacob looks more like Locke. Is that why Locke is special? Is Jacob a representation of Locke stuck in some sort of time warp? Some think it's Magnus Hanso, who was a pirate that may have crashed the Black Rock onto the island. But, I think it's Locke. That's why the Others are so intrigued with him. Plus...to answer the first question...he could in fact be the monster too. To also answer an earlier question...that grey powder could be a barrier to keep Jacob within the circle. Many have referred to it as a Spirit Circle. Looks like time is playing a major role now.

16) Next Episode is called "Greatest Hits" and focuses on this character.

The Brig (S:3;E:19)

1) Let me start off by saying: I don't think they are all dead and in some alternate reality. I was afraid they would take that path, but think about it. How much money does Widmore, Dharma and Mittloes Bioscience have? The logical inference would be that they faked the wreckage, and with the wreckage being 4 miles under, the bodies can't be recovered. Okay...okay...not THAT logical...but as Dr. Spock would say, "Improbable but not impossible."

2) So I was right about something...but wrong too. Back before this blog was a twinkle in my eye, I predicted that Locke's father was the real Sawyer. However, I also predicted that Sawyer (James Ford) was Locke's father's illegitimate son, making Locke and Ford half-brothers. While the writers left that twist available, they probably felt they didn't need to take it that far.

3) Josh Holloway has come a long way since being the purse-thief that Alicia Silverstone beat up in the Aerosmith video "Crying". And I would have loved to see him accept the role as Gambit in the X-Men films. Holloway is one of the best actors I've ever seen. Kid you not. This is not a bias towards a LOST actor. Time after time, he delivers. The scene in the brig leading up to Sawyer killing Locke's father was frikkin' incredible.

4) Rousseau shows up at the strangest times. What is she trying to blow up? Why haven't they addressed her reunion with Alex? Is that going to happen in the next episode?

5) Anyone catch the fact that Sayid was digging a hole? Just thought it might be something that comes up later.

6) Richard Alpert had to have been working with Ben. Right? A couple of posters have supposed that he may not have been. Do the Others think that Locke is special because he can walk again? Do they think he's Jacob? What about Rose? Either way...we know Locke is easily conned.

7) Hmmm....Tom Sawyer...Huck Finn...and Sawyer walking around without shoes. Nice touch.

8) Locke's on his own now. He's doing his own walkabout.

9) Next episode along the story line is "The Man Behind the Curtain" dealing with this character's past. However, they will work in a "LOST Answers" episode to help the new viewers get up to speed before the last few episodes. Not sure if that is this next week or the following.

D.O.C. (S:3;E:18)

Editor's note: Apologies for the lame posts lately. It's that time of the year? Wait...what time of year, you say? It's NFL Draft time of the year. If you check out www.phsports.blogspot.com you'll see where most of my time was committed, especially with my latest mock draft. So, basically, what I'm saying is, this episode will have commentary come in bits and pieces. Check back for updates to this posting. Thanks for understanding.

1) Juiciest bit first. I was hoping it wouldn't come to this. We could see it coming, but I was hoping it would be left alone. I'm not sure how I feel about the whole thing where Naomi says that flight 815 was found, and all the passengers are dead. I know a lot of people thought Donnie Darko was a cool movie, depicting different universes falling along the same timeline, and how breaking the time continuum caused strange things to happen

2) Does this mean that Mikhail actually died, when we saw him die, and now he's alive in this alternate universe?

3) Naomi speaks several different languages as she's dying. In Portugese, which seems to be her native tongue, she says "I am not alone"

4) How would Juliet know that Kate is pregnant? Other than knowing that her and Sawyer have been together 2 times...it's hard to tell. However, Juliet is a fertility expert. She probably has ways to tell.

5) So...did Desmond die in the hatch? Mikhails ears were bleeding...why isn't there blood on his uniform now? Are people recreated by the magic box on the island? Is that why Flight 815 was found, with all survivors dead, but they're alive on the island? Remember when Bea asked Mikhail to shoot and kill her? Maybe she's alive again too? What if Boone and his sister are alive again? Eko? Eko...Eko...Eko.

6) Is Jack going to die before season's end? He's wearing the red shirt, which Star Trek fans (or "Trekkies" as they like to be called) should know the significance behind that. Ok...fine...I'm not a Trekkie, but I know. The dude in the red shirt always dies. Remember...it's always Bones, Spock and Kirk....with Yoeman Johnson. And Yoeman Johnson always dies, and he's usually in a red shirt.

7) So, Jin had a semi-honest job working as a dealership manager for Mr. Paik. But, it was Sun who basically sold him into slavery to his father so that she could save face.

8) Thank goodness, Anna Nicole wasn't playing the role of Sun. We would have had to do multiple paternity tests. Jack, Ben, Jin, Michael, Sawyer, Walt, Vincent...

9) Next Episode is "The Brig" (for real this time)...and focuses on this character.

Catch-22 (S:3;E:17)

1) First things first. Desmond's vision. Many have been commenting on the fact that we saw Charlie die in Desmond's vision, however he's present in a vision that happens after when he should have died. He was holding the parachute to catch the girl in Desmond's vision. I also like the fact that Charlie was shot in the neck in the vision, and in real time, his guitar was shot in the neck. So, what we have here is a conflict in the vision. We don't know if it has happened before, as this was the first vision we actually saw of Charlie dying.

2) So, when Desmond was a monk, and he'd been fired, we saw a picture of that lady who told him that he can't change fate. In the head monk's office, there was a picture on his desk of him and that lady who wouldn't sell Desmond the ring. There was talk of Abraham and Isaac. The ultimate sacrifice. Vozzek (a poster on Dark UFO) talks about the discussion about Superman and The Flash. There was a flash behind Hurley before Desmond decides to save Charlie. I guess it was the same flash that the black cloud made when it was near Kate and Juliet. Vozzek makes a good assumption. Was that a break in the time continuum? Desmond challenges fate. From what I understand, changing fate, and causing a break in the time continuum spells chaos. How will this effect the outcome of what happens on the island?

3) The photo in the Catch 22 book. Desmond has one of them. There was only one picture taken. But, then again, Penny could have made a copy. She had one on her nightstand at the end of season 2. Did she give that copy to Naomi before sending her to get Desmond?

4) From Lostpedia: "Moriah Vineyards" is an anagram of both 'harmed visionary'. Moriah is also the name of the mountain where Abraham almost sacrificed Isaac.

5) From Lostpedia: The hula doll found in the jungle looks like Hurley's doll in his Hummer

6) From Lostpedia: The Brazilian version of Catch-22 is interesting, because in Brazil they speak Portuguese. Same language the guys spoke at the listening station at the end of season 2.

7) So does Kate have confidence issues? She obviously still has feelings for Jack. She tries to boost her self-esteem by sleeping with Sawyer after seeing Jack and Juliet having a moment. So, what if Juliet is trying to get Kate pregnant? Sun concieved away from the island. From what we understand, the problem with pregnancy on the island happens when conception occurs on the island. Is Juliet just flirting with Jack, because she knows Kate will go running to Sawyer?

8) Ok...so how far can a helicopter fly? I touched on this in my commentary on last episode. The island isn't far away from somewhere. Where that somewhere is, I don't know.

9) Next Episode is called "D.O.C." and is about this character

Season 3 Finale, Fan Theories

Some interesting fan theories of the season finale:

Locke's father was hiding in Christian Shephard's casket, hence no body when Jack smashed the coffin, and that's how he ended up on the island.

Jack is in on Ben's plan without Juliet knowing. We think he's an Other, but instead he double-crosses Ben
Penny makes it to the island somehow, but Desmond ends up dying to save her

My favorite fan theory of the season finale, from a dude named Raymond:

End scene: The Losties have won the Battle for the Beach largely because while Juliet served as a Trojan Horse for The Others, Locke served the same function for The Losties. Ben has been captured. He's injured, bug-eyed and bloody.

Locke tells Jack that Ben has Jacob's list in his possession.

Locke: Let's get a look and see if we can make some sense of it.

Jack: Give me the list, Ben. Now.

Ben: Are you sure, Jack? Are you sure you want to see it? Be careful what you wish for.

Jack: No more mind games, Ben, just give me the list.

Ben: Alright, Jack, you're the boss, you're the leader. Here it is.

Jack takes the list. His face goes white.

Locke: It's alright, Jack. It doesn't matter if your name isn't on it, we don't even know what it means. It probably means nothing.

Jack: No, it's not that.

Locke: What then, what?

One of Them (S:3,E:16)

1) Looks like the writers were hellbent on answering a lot of questions. So many things were tied together. I found it funny that they called the Benry episode in season 2 "One of Them" and they called this one "One of Us" and they both turned out to be one of them in the end.

2) I'm a little unsure about the orange juice and tranquilizer thing. Was there any implication that the Sub took longer than a day to get to the island? How long to tranquilizers knock you out? I know that if a tranquilizer is strong enough, it can kill you. So...I guess what I'm saying is...the island might not be that far away.

3) Speaking of things I'm unsure about. Is Jack a good leader? Jack is getting on my nerves, much like at this same point in last season. His character just bothers me. So much authority, yet so many bad decisions. Weak intuition. I mean, wouldn't he be more careful?

4) So, we see one of the issues the Others are having with the island. They can't procreate there. In fact, it works backwards. Instead of augmenting their numbers with child birth, pregnancy eventually brings the numbers down with the deaths of the pregnant mothers. The Others are becoming extinct. On the Hanso Foundation website, the company vision is to "bring rebirth to a dying land and a dying people". I liked the part where Juliet mentioned this among the losties when helping Clare, then the camera panned on Sun. Does this mean Sun will die? However, this problem wasn't always there. Benry said he was born on the island. Aaron was born there. So what's the deal? Rousseau had Alex on the island. If there is a situation with Dharma and "Hostiles", maybe Dharma poisoned the "Hostiles" and that is why they die from their pregnancies.

5) So, we've heard "Him" before...but, now we are sure it's someone named Jacob. His name was mentioned in the Room 22 scene with Karl, which Karl muttered again on the pontoon boat. Apparently, Jacob has special powers like the ability to cure cancer.

6) It's too bad that we can't see Ana Lucia tell Juliet that she killed Goodwin. We could always use another cat fight. Will the topic ever come up? I'm surprised it hasn't yet, then again, I may need to go back and watch some early episodes this season to see if it did.

7) So we see that Mikhail was the main inhabitant of the Flame hatch. He was pretty adept with the equipment there, especially when they coordinated with the camera-man to show Rachel to Juliet. This could (emphasis on "could") feed the theory that the island isn't as far away from the U.S. as we've been led to believe.

8) The most chilling scene of the episode was Juliet reciting "the plan" to Benry. Handcuffing herself to Kate. Setting off the implant in Clare, giving her symptoms. Gaining the trust of the Losties.

9) Speaking of Kate, we all saw her embrace with Sawyer. Now that they've been apart, and Kate has seen that Jack's allegiance is to Juliet, I can see Kate and Sawyer rekindling something. Then again, I can see Sawyer going back to his old ways and pissing her off again. Sawyer is evolving, but the old Sawyer thrived on everyone hating him. You don't exactly turn that around overnight.

10) What did Sayid do in Basra? Basra was the site of a major revolt against Saddam in 1991, which was put down with heavy force.

12) Speaking of these "implants" (like the one in Claire), does Juliet have an implant? Maybe when they brought her in the "submarine," they put an implant in her.

13) Next episode is called "Catch-22". Not sure who it's about but, I'll guess. I say it's Desmond. But, I'm a little disappointed. From what I understood from interviews with the writers at the beginning of the season, we could possibly see flashbacks of Benry, Rousseau or even an episode about Penny in realtime searching for Desmond. Four episodes left. I'm guessing the final episode could be Ben's flashback. Will we find out anything about Michael or Walt? They got the entire season off. Of course the kid that plays Walt is probably getting close to 6 feet...so he may never return to the show...as the show is at about 90 days now.

Left Behind (S:3,E:15)

1) Found this tidbit on Wikipedia: The title of the episode, "Left Behind," is also the title of a novel by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins giving a fictional account of what might happen after the "rapture." (The rapture is the future vanishing of Christians to meet Christ in heaven, believed in by many evangelical and fundamentalist Christians.) After Kate, Juliet, Jack, and Sayid are left behind by the Others, Sayid says regarding the Others' sudden disappearance, "It's like fifty people disappeared into thin air." The novel "Left Behind" was later made into a movie.

1.1) The movie "Left Behind" was poked at by a Simpson's episode called "Thank God It's Doomsday" as a book called "Left Below"

1.2) This could also be a reason why there were advertisements for that new movie "The Reaping" as that movie is based on the "rapture"

2) Back to the storyline. We're back to classic LOST. We see another connection between two characters. Cassidy, who in flashbacks is carrying Sawyer's daughter, has a link to Kate. Although too much of the connections would be over-kill, I love this type of stuff. Especially the part where Kate is probably the one the convinces Cassidy to call the police and put Sawyer in jail. Imagine if Sawyer found that out. By the way, where can I get a "Cowboy Up" hat?

3) Kate is caught in a funny place. In this episode, whether it's flashbacks or the present, Kate is with a woman that's involved with one of her men. These triangles include Cassidy, Kate and Sawyer, and Juliet, Kate and Jack. Kate, in some ways reminds me of Emma in the book "Madame Bovary" (by Flaubert). She's considered by all to be beautiful, but to the trained eye they see the steely look in her eyes, her covert control in relationships, her afinity for doing things that you wouldn't expect from a lady (tracking, blowing things/people up, a mean left-hook), and, of course, her involvement in triangles. In fact, it's a masterful piece by Flaubert. I did a phychological profile of Emma back in college for my Gender Psychology class. Evangeline Lilly (acting similar to her role as Kate) would make a perfect Emma Bovary.

4) Has Juliet been banished by the others, or is this another one of Benry's mind games and she's in on it? It's very easy to say that she's been banished, and that her story of being afraid to be left behind was true. However, this would be a strong chess move by Benry and the Others, as they could have been mentally training Jack to think that Juliet is a "Stanger in a Strange Land" among the others. Gotta love the scenes from the next episode, and what Sayid says to Juliet. I'm growing a respect for Sayid's character. He's a trained professional. He can read anyone, and is a master of extracting information from people, through physical or mental avenues. If Sayid is cool with her after next episode...I think I'll be cool with her.

5) So Kate's mother, Diane, warned Kate about screaming for help next time she saw her. So I guess the next time they saw each other was in the hospital.

6) Once again, the conman (Sawyer) gets conned (by Hurley). We saw this happen in season one ("Outlaws") when Hibbs convinces Sawyer that a man named Duckett is the real Sawyer. It turned out that Sawyer was conned by Hibbs, when Duckett was actually someone that owed Hibbs money, and Sawyer was unknowingly doing Hibbs' work. However, this con put Sawyer into a good light. Hurley pulled the "Survivor Con" on Sawyer, telling him he was being voted off the island. Hurley's character is evolving. He's playing a deeper role. Before he was just good for jokes and silly moments. Now he's partly responsible for the evolution of Sawyer's character. My favorite (and probably everyone's favorite) part of the episode was the look on Sawyer's face when baby Aaron was handed over to him.

7) It turns out that the Others don't know much about the Monster (The Black Cloud), unless Juliet was lying. She said that she knows it doesn't like the sonic fence that they have. When the black cloud approaches Juliet the first time and made those flashing lights, it did not seem like the same thing that happened to Eko. Then again, the focus was on the cloud in that episode. In this episode, the focus was on Juliet's face. I'm interested to see what images it extracted from her. I guess we'll see when there is an episode about Juliet's flashbacks.

8) Is Locke one of the Others now? It seems that way. The writers, at the beginning of the season spoke of one of the Losties and one of the Others switching allegiences. This is probably it, with Locke and Juliet. Locke now knows of Kate's past, and while he said the Others aren't forgiving, it almost seemed like Locke was even less forgiving. One of the sites mentions that Locke's hand was bandaged. Did he beat the hell out of his dad? Why didn't we see anything else on Locke's reuniting with his dad?

9) Some Easter Eggs (Thanks to Wikipedia, LOST on ABC, and other websites dedicated to LOST): a) Kate goes by the name "Lucy". The Feast of Saint Lucy occurs on December 13, which is the same day that the events of Left Behind occur. The Losties have a feast on that day. b) We hear the same Patsy Cline song again...this seems to pop up at least once a season. c) In a previous episode, Locke talks about his favorite board game, Mousetrap (one of my favorites too) and there was one in the Others' rec room. d) Lots of pinball games and other things in the rec room. I would have just stayed there.

10) If the Others have vacated their village, will Jack consider bringing the Losties back to their. Running water and houses to live in would be nice. But, then again, it could bring about greed and other things that ruin our society. This could be an interesting plot if they choose to go with it.

11) Next Episode is called "One of Them" and focuses on this character's flashbacks.

Expose (S:3,E:14)

1) I guess this episode made up for even bringing the two characters into play. In the end, they did nothing, they added nothing and they effected nothing. This was the writers of the show basically saying they screwed up by writing those characters in, and consequently wrote them out. They never even had anything to do with the mystery of the island. Though we did hear the cloud when Nikki poisoned Paulo. She looked around as if she saw something. Overall, the episode had some interesting parts, but was overall a snore-fest. Literally. On three occasions I woke up and had to rewind the DVR.

2) Among other characters long gone, I liked seeing Ethan. Although we knew he was there in the beginning acting like a survivor, he seems to pop up at the most random places, and seems very sinister. He told Nikki and Paulo to go inland to find their bag. Was he planning to kidnap them? Were they on the list?

3) One of the posters pointed out an interesting double-meaning. When Nikki tells Paulo, "Promise me we'll never end up like them." She's refering to Shannon and Boone, who were arguing. But, Shannon and Boone died...and while they're officially dead...Nikki and Paulo have pretty much bit it. But, I add this. Locke said "Things don't stay buried on this island." Could it be that someone will discover Nikki and Paulo in time? Now how about this quote. "We poisoned him—let's not poison ourselves." Another line that Nikki told Paulo.

4) Never knew this, but there is a 'Vincent is the monster' theory. The dog?!?! The thinking is that Vincent has been leading people into danger, or finding clues. It has been pointed out that Vincent was the 2nd character we ever see on the show, after Jack. Maybe he's more important than we think. Another poster pointed out the opposite (from the Monster Theory). Maybe he's working against the island. He uncovered Nikki and Paulo, in a last ditch effort to save their lives. Some even ask if he's even a dog. If he's the monster, posing as the dog, then we have a question of whether the monster is working with or against the island.

5) We continue to see Benry's plan unfolding. This time it was in the Pearl hatch, with Juliet, checking out Jack. This doesn't deviate from any theory regarding whether they had Jack brought to the island, or not. But, gives us a little more insight.

6) Billy Dee Williams was the Cobra commander. That's what Hurley was surprised to hear. Why, because Billy Dee was a thought to be a good guy. Is it possible that someone amongst the survivors could be a Cobra among the good guys? Could one of the LOSTies be the one that Ben and the Others refer to as "Him"? In Expose, the Cobra wasn't exposed until after the 4th season. Could that happen in LOST? Some other interesting similarities between the "show" Expose and LOST. Nikki makes a comment on knowing what happens to guest stars.

7) Now to what bothered me the most, and will take some explaining (if they even bother to explain). Paulo saw the others in the Pearl hatch, in a scene which takes place before Benry was caught...yet he tells nobody?!

8) By the way...loved the part where Sawyer referred to Nikki and Paulo as Jabronis. Then he later calls them "Nina and Pablo"

9) Charlotte's Web fans unite!!! Let's see. Spiders. Pigs (when Arzt mentions pigs walking...which is a reference to Animal Farm). Oh, and of course, Mr. Zukerman.

10) Next episode is named "Left Behind" and focuses on this character.

1) A little easter egg that took me longer than most to notice. The guy who opened the door, revealing Locke's father was the same guy who was recruiting Juliet.

2) "The BOX": Time to attempt to tie this together with "The Monster" (a.k.a. The Security System). Kate saw a black horse. This doesn't explain the horse being in her flashback, causing the accident. Hugo saw Dave, I'll have to go back and check to see if there was any Black in Dave's wardrobe. However, Dave was in Hurley's imagination in flashbacks. Maybe I'm onto something here. Jack saw his father, who was wearing a black suit. However, I doubt Jack's father was a figment of his imagination in his flashbacks. We saw Eko's images in the monster while it was in cloud form. The monster was reading his thoughts. I know there is the fact that past and present are the difference here, but it begs a question. Is there a link between the box and the cloud? Ok...I didn't really tie this together well...but, still something to think about. As Homer Simpson once said..."I'm smart. S-M-R-T. Smart"

3) I touched on Jack and Claire possibly finding out that they're brother and sister by both seeing the image of their father together. How about Sawyer and Locke? Anthony Cooper is there now...and if he truly is the real Sawyer...then James (the current Sawyer) could possibly come across him as well. Would he recognize him, if Cooper is the real Sawyer?

The Man from Tallahassee (S:3,E:13)

1) So it WAS a submarine! Check out this post (point #10) where we hear mention of a sub.

2) I'm glad that we see Benry back to normal. He is "evil". Was there any doubt that he wanted Locke to destroy the submarine? And now we've confirmed (as far as we know) that Benry was born on the island. We also see that the island possibly has an inverse effect on him. While it heals those that are not native to the island, it possibly hurts those native to it (or slows their healing).

3) We finally find out why Locke was paralyzed. I guess the paralysis being psycho-somatic isn't true. However, several doors were opened. First, we find out that Locke truly did have mental issues (depression). Could that really have been him in the nut-house staring at the painting behind Hurley? Locke's therapist says, "John, you fell eight stories out of a window. I don't want to hear about what you can't do." Is this where the "Don't tell me what I can't do," was born?

4) Again we hear about the island giving you what you want. Letting you see what you want to see. Would it be stupid to think that what we saw may not be Locke's father?

5) Next episode is titled "Expose" and is a flashback on a couple of people that we have yet to see a flashback on.

Par Avion (S:3,E:12)

1) Not that the foreshadowing from previous seasons didn't make it a clear possibility, but it was nice to be right about SOMETHING!!! Christian Shephard (Jack's father) is also Claire's father. Slowly we're seeing more and more people connected to Christian Shephard. This makes an earlier theory rear it's ugly head again. In season one, when Jack sees his father (who I think now was just an image made from the black smoke, much like Eko seeing his brother), and when he chases his father down, he arrives at his father's casket. When he breaks it open, there's no body, but they kinda didn't make a big deal about that. Mikhail talked about a great man. He also said, that man is not Benry. So, back to my theory, is Christian Shephard still alive, and is he this great man?

2) Speaking of what he says...Mikhail points out to Sayid and Kate that they weren't on "The List". However, he basically says that Locke was. Though the list points out weaknesses. Benry talked about this before when he and Locke were in the hatch and Benry was held captive. He said that he was there to bring Locke back. And we saw in the previews that Locke and Benry meet again, and that Benry knows a whole lot more about Locke than we thought. Mikhail has a memory of lock "para...". But, Mikhail has been on the island for 11 years, Locke has been paralyzed for 4 years. With Mikhail biting the dust...we may never get an explanation for that.

3) Back to the story line. We see that Claire is linked to death now too...well, maybe not death. She was (as far as we know) responisble for the accident that put her mother in a coma. She said she hated her mother and wished she was dead right before the accident. Nice touch, by the way, on the "no seatbelt" light in the car.

4) So...how will Jack and Claire find out they are siblings. My theory is that the black smoke, as Christian Shephard, will appear to both of them.

5) At the end we see Jack running for his life...er...no...playing football with Zeke. The look on Kate's face was priceless.

Enter 77 (S:3,E:11)

1) I would like to see if the story of the war waged by Dharma on the Hostiles (the Others) is true, or if the Others truly are Dharma. For now...let's say that's what happened. So maybe the hostiles weren't kidding when they said they are good people (as far as they believe). Judging by the experiments that Dharma is known to do, the Others/Hostiles could be a lot like another terrorist organization known as PETA (Yes, my tree-hugging friends, I called PETA a terrorist organization). More interesting to me is the fact that Mikhail said the Hostiles had been there long before Dharma got there.

2) I don't believe that the satellite dish has not worked for years. I believe the 2004 world series video came from this station via its access to the mainland. Jack's files were probably received there. But, I believe that the communications were all knocked out when "the sky turned purple". And now that Locke entered 77, all communication is LOST.

3) If I remember correctly, Kelvin made some comments about the Hostiles as well. Maybe that's why Kelvin was there, at the hatch, with the guns (other than the fact that he was diffusing the magnetic anomaly every 108 minutes). I'm guessing that the advertisement (ad-ver-tiz-ment) "Save the World" will rear its head from time to time. I'm sure that's what Kelvin saw, bringing him to the island. I also believe that's the same ad that Kelvin responded to, because Kelvin told Desmond that he's saving the world.

4) The Flame Hatch makes six now. We've seen the Swan (where Desmond was), Arrow (where the Tailies housed themselves), Medical (where Ethan Rom took a pregnant Claire), and the Pearl (Where they monitored other stations). Regarding the similarities to Apollo's constellations, the Flame could be direct reference to Apollo, who represents the sun, with the Pearl referencing his twin sister Artemis, who represents the moon (See this link). [EDITOR'S NOTE: Yes...I can't count]

5) Sawyer's character is changing. He seems to be getting away from the guy that everybody hates, and getting closer to the guy that everyone is growing to like. The role is very big brother-ish, in my opinion. They seem to be looking up to him, but they all want to one-up him. It's interesting to see how they show the scenes where he's thinking of Kate. Ever wonder who gave him those glasses he was playing with?

6) How was Mikhail not able to beat a computer chess game (though it was programmed by 3 grand masters, according to Mikhail), but Locke beats it twice in one afternoon? Also, did anyone notice that Locke actually didn't win? The computer could have protected its King. Kudos to D.U. for finding this. The Bishop could have protected the King. This isn't oversight. There is something to the "computer cheats" thing.

7) Why would Danielle disappear like that when she's supposed to be looking for her daughter? Again, D.U. hits the nail on the head. We still don't know much about Danielle. She could be an "Other" for all we know.

8) I'm actually surprised that Sayid confessed to the torture in the end. He did a great job of convincing me that he didn't do it. I was sure that there was some mix up. But, we see that Sayid was definitely guilty of something, like most of the Losties are. But, in the end, Samy's wife teaches Sayid compassion and forgiveness, which he passed on to Mikhail.

9) Next episode is called Par Avion, and is based on this character. (Note: I want to minimize spoilers for anyone that may want as little of the show spoiled as possible, hence the link to the character)

The Gunslinger

Looks like the LOST writers have taken on the first book of Stephen King's Dark Tower Series, The Gunslinger, as a big screen production. I've mentioned before that the LOST writers (Abrams and Lindelof) are huge King fans, and incorporate a lot of things from Stephen King books into LOST. The Gunslinger probably bears a lot of those resemblences.

I can't wait for this one. The Dark Tower Series (and The Stand which also bears resemblence to LOST) are, in my opinion, Stephen King's best books.

Tricia Tanaka is Dead (S:3,E:10)

1) I have to say, I laughed more during this episode than I've laughed at a LOST episode in a long time. My favorite scene had to be the meteor hitting the Mr. Clucks that Hurley just bought. The scene where Sawyer yelps and says there's a head in the back of the car had me rolling on the floor. My favorite line is when Hurley runs up and hugs Sawyer when he sees him for the first time and Sawyer says, "Well I missed you too, Snuffy." Sesame Street fans can only understand that. And Skeletor?! That was it. Maybe I'm the only one that finds these things funny. Who knows?

2) So...back to the plot. Looks like the numbers are linked to death. Tricia Tanaka is dead, so is Hurley's grandfather, and the dude that fell from the window when Hurley was visiting his accountant. I have to go back and look, but I'm pretty sure his accountant (in season 1) talked about another one of Hurley's businesses burning to the ground. However, he keeps getting richer due to insurance payments. I wonder if the insurance companies will do an investigation due to all of his mishaps. Another character linked to death is Walt. Animals that he is linked to (comics, pictures, etc) end up dying or getting killed. His mother died. Only question I have surrounds whether it's the numbers, or Hurley, or the combination of the two that are linked to death. The original numbers guy died too.

3) Hurley's father isn't the only one to tell Hurley to make his own luck. The lady he visited in Australia said the same.

4) Speaking of Hurley's father, it was great to see Cheech Marin in that role. What's next? Tommy Chong is Paulo's father? It was a nice touch to see that Hurley kept the Camaro that he was working on with his father. And, the Apollo Chocolate Bar was a nice touch. Speaking of Paulo and Nikki we're getting close to the episode based on them.

5) Looks like Kate put 2 & 2 together. She told Danielle about Alex. This was inevitable. "Slingshot Sally" (another Sawyer nickname) and her mother will be reunited. This should be interesting, especially with Alex believing that Benry is her father. Will there be a struggle for Alex to accept it, or will she know? I forget the psychological term, but it's that thing where a mother and child can be seperated at birth, yet they can meet 20 years down the road, and know. Should be interesting to see how soon that happens. There is supposed to be an episode based on Danielle's flashbacks during this season. I expect that one to be the episode where they re-unite. It isn't for a while though.

6) Regarding the car, it makes sense that it would be there. Forgetting the lack of a road, and the plans that Sawyer found for the construction for roads, there could be enough flat land for a car to get around. Heck...there could have been a dirt road, and the foliage could have grown over it. It was (or looked like) a VW Bus with the Dharma symbol on the front. Of course, there were some things that were strange. Popping a clutch at that speed will give you whiplash, or the tires will lose traction unless you pop in 4th or 5th gear (I don't think those had a 5th gear). Neither happened. Rule of thumb though, is to pop the clutch in 2nd.

7) Some people have noticed a super structure in the background to the right of this image of the map that Sawyer found in the car. And on this map of the Swan Station.

8) Next episode is titled "Enter 77" and is based on Sayid's flashbacks.

God Loves You as He Loved Jacob

Stranger in a Strange Land (S:3,E:9)

1) So we see Jack in a Pre-Tsunami Phucket. He meets a young lady named Achara. During the episode Achara asks if Jack is there to find himself. Long story short, she has a gift. She can see who a person is. She tells Jack that he is a leader and a great man, but this makes him lonely, frightened, and angry. However, later we are introduced to Isabel, who is a "Sheriff" (according to Tom). She reads his tattoo, and says that chinese is hard to translate. At the end of the episode she tells Jack that his tattoo means "he walks amongst us, but he is not one of us". Having a chinese character as a tattoo, I know this well. My tattoo, as a chinese character, has several meanings. Teach and Religion are two of the meanings. Jack tells Isabel that the tattoos may say what she translated, but it is not what they mean. This had one of those tingly effects on me, because my tattoo may say one thing, but to me it says something else. It has a deeper meaning. It's my contract with myself. It represents something special to me, and says a whole lot more to me than it does to someone who tranlates it. I'm assuming this is the same way Jack looks at his tattoos. In the real world, his tattoo reads "Eagles high up in the expansive sky".

2) Until Jack mentioned that Cindy was the stewardess, when he woke up with all the "watchers" around him, I was ready to call out a blunder, because Cindy never made it to the Lostie camp. Looks like the kids are ok, for now. They don't know about Ana Lucia yet. But, what the hell are they watching? Jack? Do they truly have a better life now, as Karl mentioned to Kate and Sawyer?

3) Karl muttered "God loves you as he loved Jacob" as Sawyer was rowing them to the main island. I believe that was the same thing said in the Room 23 scene.

4) We see Sawyer's soft side again. This time in a fatherly (or big brotherly) form. When Kate thinks that Karl is gone. Sawyer hears Karl crying and tells Kate he will deal with Karl: "Boys only." Sawyer comforts him and suggests he go back for Alex but Karl says they would kill him this time. Sawyer suggests that for a girl he would "name dumb stars with," it might be worth it. But, once again, Sawyer needs people to hate him. Sawyer says Kate is just angry because she feels guilty, not about leaving Jack, but for having sex with Sawyer. He says she only did it because she thought he was going to die.

5) Next Episode is called "Tricia Tanaka is Dead" and it focuses on Hurley. And look for a guest appearance by a funny guy that became famous as part of a duo that had things tough all over.

Flashes Before Your Eyes (S:3,E:8)

The story took a strange turn down the path of "Time Travel". Not a ton of stuff this time...many little things to read into though.

1) So....we find out that Desmond's life flashed before his eyes when he activated the fail-safe. However, we still don't know how he ended up in the forest...naked. Many people on the message boards have varying opinions. I'm of the opinion that the experience he had back in London was just a figment of his imagination....a replay of events that already occurred, but in a dream-like state, where he could make changes.

2) I was surprised to find out it's Charlie that Desmond keeps saving. But, I'm not convinced that Charlie's life will be at stake every episode. I think this started when Ethan Rom (anagram for "Other Man") kidnapped Charlie and hung him in a tree, and Jack saved his life. From that point, nature has been trying to correct itself.

3) Who carries a $100,000 bottle of booze with them on a plane? I know the airline wasn't selling shots of that stuff.

4) Some have mentioned that the painting in Widmore's office closely resembled the painting in the hatch. The painting in Widmore's office also says "Namaste" across it backwards.

5) Jim Carrey's movie, "The Number 23" airs every time LOST is on. Gotta love the coincidence.

Not in Portland (S:3,E:7)

1) So Juliet is gifted in sciences dealing with fertility. She impregnated a male field-mouse for crying out loud. Mittelos Bioscience seems to be key to this episode. They recruited Juliet for her expertise. They 86'ed her ex-husband, because that's what she asked for.

2) Update on the Mittelos website: It may not be an official site relating to the show. It could be a site set up by fans. However, looking at the website in the previous post, we see a map of the island. Experiment 108 maps out the "Experimental Island", the "Control Island" and the "Observation Island". Once in there, you get an email from Rachel. In the email is a link to a video (which I cannot see from work due to firewalls...so I might comment on this later). I've read the unofficial transcript. Apparently what Rachel is saying is that Hanso, Widmore and Mittelos are all the same company, or at least, they have a common vision and that they are going to kill Juliet in the process.

3) On the map, it mentions Casimir Studies in the "Observation Island". Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casimir_effect

4) So Benry has taken Alex as his own child. He's very protective of her, and this could explain why Karl is always held in a cage. I mean...when I have a daughter...no boys until she's 30. So I can see where he's coming from.

5) Ethan keeps surprising me. At first, he came off as a jungle-boy. Then we find out he has medical skills (back when he was treating Claire in the Serpent Hatch). Now, we see he's either a recruiter, or he is gifted at doing dirty-work...like arranging for people to get run over by buses.

6) More biblical references. Isaac and Rebekah had twins named Jacob and Esau. Jacob was a learned man but also a con-man who struggled with Angels and Demons (sounds like Sawyer). Esau is the Hunter (this would be Locke). Genesis 25:29-34 recounts how he was tricked by Jacob into giving up his birthright (leadership of Israel) for a meal of lentils. From this, "Esau" in western religions has metaphorically stood for anyone who is tricked into a worthless bargain. Sounds a hell of a lot like Locke. Even in the womb, Jacob and Esau were locked into a mortal struggle. This goes back to my thoughts that Sawyer and Locke might be half-brothers (or may have a connection of sorts) and that Locke's father is the real Sawyer. Furthermore, on the biblical reference...Rachel (Juliet's sister) is pregnant. Rachel (of the Old Testament) was one of Jacob's wives and she had difficulty bearing children for many years. Together they had a son named Joseph, who was taken from them and sold into slavery by his brothers (older brothers from Jacob's other wives). Joseph had the ability to interperet dreams, earning the title of "Joseph the King of Dreams". Rachel also had a second son...his name was Benjamin (Benry?).

0) Not a lot of easter eggs in this one. But, plenty of emotion.

1) "Lift up your head and look to the North." Is that where the other island is, or One-Eyed Jack? Notice that it said John underneath the scripture. Is that for the gospel of John, or a message to Locke? Check out the picture I added to see what's North.

2) So this is the marriage that Kate was speaking of when she was playing the drinking game with Sawyer. "What you see is what you get." Not with Kate. There was a comedian at the DC Improv, she spoke of irony. Irony is: Kate marrying a cop. Especially one that investigates fugitives. I'm telling you...we should go back to ancient Roman times and brand fugitives on the forehead with "FUGI" (et tu Brute?) so they can't dupe anyone else.

3) I also remember Kate telling Sun last season that she's used a pregnancy test before.

4) So Carl was Alex's boyfriend. Guess he wasn't a kidnapped tailie (though that theory could still work). Loved the slingshot. I had to try hard to keep from giggling. When Ben asks about Alex, he's told that Alex has been taken home. Is that to the Other neighborhood on the main island? And, did Benry raise Alex? He seemed to show some inkling of care for her. Something tells me that we're not far from an Alex/Rousseou reunion when LOST comes back from it's 12 year hiatus.

5) What's with Sawyer's willingness to die? One would expect him to fight for his life when death is imminent. But, he chose instead to let it happen (even though it didn't), possibly thinking it would save Kate.

6) Jack's story to Kate when she was sewing him up in the Pilot episode: "Well, fear's sort of an odd thing. When I was in residency my first solo procedure was a spinal surgery on a 16 year old kid, a girl. And at the end, after 13 hours, I was closing her up and I, I accidentally ripped her dural sac, shredded the base of the spine where all the nerves come together, membrane as thin as tissue. And so it ripped open and the nerves just spilled out of her like angel hair pasta, spinal fluid flowing out of her and the terror was just so crazy. So real. And I knew I had to deal with it. (crying). So I just made a choice. I'd let the fear in, let it take over, let it do its thing, but only for 5 seconds, that's all I was going to give it. So I started to count, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Then it was gone. I went back to work, sewed her up and she was fine."

7) Best line of the show: "Who said I was going to operate? I just wanted you to know how you are going to die!"

8) Desmond in the Promo saying something to the tune of: "You don't want to know what happened to me in there." So...Desmond knows? This one should be good.

9) So, one of the Others says that Jack wasn't even on Jacob's list. Who's Jacob? Is that Jacob Vander-something, Hanso Board Member?

10) Anyway...long time til Feb 7th. But, 16 straight weeks!?!? I'll have my work cut out for me. Time to get some rest.

The Cost of Living (S:3,E:5)

1) We start with a flashback of Eko as a child, stealing from the church to feed his brother Yemi. He's caught by a nun and told to confess his guilt to the priest so that he can be absolved of his sin. Both at this time, and in the end of the episode, Eko refuses to confess his guilt. Eko says he did not choose the life he was given and that he is not sorry for the things he has done, saying that he did his best with what was given to him. The smoke proceeds to then throw Eko around...smashing him into trees and finally into the ground...fatally injuring Eko. Does this mean that the smoke was acting in a just manner? The image of Yemi says, "You talk to me as if I am really your brother." Could this mean that he wanted Eko to talk to him as if he's a priest? Maybe Eko only cares about getting forgiveness from his brother, and not from a greater being (like God).

2) So...with Eko gone, the only Tailie left is Bernard. Talk about being on the wrong side of a divide. If you're a tailie...your chances of stayin' alive are slim.

3) The writers kept saying that the "Smoke" has been around, we just haven't noticed it. Well...guess you can say that when Jack saw his father, it was the Smoke. When Kate saw the horse, it was the smoke. Boone, in the Sweat Lodge. Maybe the bird that keeps saying Hurley's name is the smoke too.

4) Still doesn't seem like Nikki and Paulo are making a smooth transition into the story. I guess change is tough, even for someone watching a TV show.

5) IT WASN'T AN ALIEN!!! Thank God! So it was a dude with an eyepatch. But, how the heck does he know he's being filmed? Maybe the camera had one of those red lights on it. Dude was pretty quick to cut that thing off. Gotta love the foreshadowing by Locke: "He'll be expecting us." A lot of people speculating that it's Razinsky (Kelvin's hatch-mate that supposedly blew his brains out). Kelvin mentioned that Razinsky did splicing. The splice of film that was found, was found with the glass eye. Could it be that Razinsky is still alive?

6) I liked the part where Benry asks Jack if he believes in God. Then he says, two days after he was diagnosed with the tumor, a spinal surgeon drops out of the sky. Juliette's little video at the end there makes me a little suspicious about whether her and Benry are in on a bigger plan. There is one thing that I found interesting though. Benry said that they chose Juliette to talk to Jack, because she resembled his wife. So...did Jack really just fall out of the sky...or did they have him pegged before he even left Australia on flight 815?

7) To Kill a Mockingbird...eh? Funny how the plot of that book could be present in this sub-plot. Is Juliette actually leading the others in a mutiny against Benry? Is Benry "wrongfully accused" and is actually a good guy? Is Juliette the "bad guy"? Is Jack playing the role of Atticus Finch?

8) Next Episode is titled "I Do", and has flashbacks about Kate's life.

Every Man For Himself (S:3,E:4)

"Clinging to each other in their loneliness and alienation, George and his simple-minded friend Lennie dream, as drifters will, of a place to call their own. But after they come to work on a ranch in the Salinas Valley their hopes, like "the best laid schemes o' mice an' men," begin to go awry."

1) I'm going to get Desmond out of the way so I can focus on the other stuff. Desmond shows us more evidence that he can see into the future. He asked Claire to move her lodging, and when she refuses and Charlie attempts to act manly, he builds a lightening rod with a 5-Iron. The lightening rod attracts the bolt of lightening. Charlie has a look of amazement, as he stares at Desmond. I expect Charlie to confront Desmond about his power. It also seems like Desmond knows he can see into the future. In the previous episode, it seemed more like an accident, when he told Hurley about Locke's speech. My favorite line (Hurley): "Is that art?" I don't know about you guys...but that rivaled the "Dude, you got some Arzt on you" line.

2) Paulo seems like an arse so far. That was either a Brazilian soccer shirt he was wearing, or I need to adjust the color on the TV. Desmond's line about being Sco'ish was great.

3) Ok...so we get a little more info on James Ford's (Sawyer's) background. They've been trying to soften up his character to us since season one. We have to remember that not only did his mother cheat on his father (and Sawyer could be someone else's kid...namely Locke's father's, making him Locke's half-bro), his father killed Sawyer's mother and himself when Sawyer was a young kid. That's gotta do some permanent psychological damage. Sawyer has a good heart, it seems, but he has this need to be hated. Trauma like that can cause someone to think that they were at fault or they are not good enough, therefore they don't deserve anything good in life. A form of self-torture. The guy finally comes into some legit money, and what does he do with it? He leaves it all for his daughter. The same daughter who he refused to accept in front of the mother (Cassidy...the girl he pulled the Long Con on, and who is responsible for Sawyer being in prison). Guess you can say he does care for the child. The complexity of Sawyer's character makes him, if not the most, one of the most interesting characters on the show. Oh...and..."Dear goo goo gaa gaa"...LOL

4) I said from the beginning, there is no way they put a pacemaker in him. Here's some info on pacemakers: Pacemakers are electronic clocks, which send a small current through a lead to stimulate the heart beat. There are two components to a pacemaker. The generator is the battery and the electronics. It is a small metal can, which is sealed. The generator is placed under the skin below the collarbone. It can be placed on the right side or the left side of the chest. Attached to the generator is one or two wires called leads. The leads travel through the veins to the heart and carry the small electrical current to the heart muscle. A pacemaker is usually implanted under local anesthesia and sedation. A small incision is made under the collarbone and the generator is placed under the skin in a pocket created above the muscle. 5) Kate, much like Sawyer, lives life like she doesn't deserve anything good, but strives to make things good for her and those she cares about. She says she doesn't love Sawyer...but it's hard to say. I wouldn't put it past her to lie about that. She doesn't want to let anyone in. It's one of the most common defense mechanism in our society today. Don't let anyone in...you won't get hurt.

6) Wasn't the bank that Kate robbed in her flashback in Albequerque? She saved Clementine's money from being stolen, didn't she? See...she's already taking care of Sawyer's kid.

7) When Benry takes Sawyer to the edge of the island, and does the "Con the con-man" bit, did anyone notice something white (like Desmond's boat) flashing in the bottom right corner of the screen in the water? I haven't had a chance to go watch the episode again, but will report on this later.

8) Did you guys notice the cartoon that Jack was watching with the buzzard and the little swans? That was one of my favorites back in the day. In the end, a baby Daffy Duck is adopted into the family of swans. We saw the book Of Mice and Men ("Which way did he go, George, which way did he go?"), and this cartoon is the Ugly Duckling with a twist (since Daffy actually is a duck). I wonder how either of those will parallel into the stories.

9) So, the intercom system works. Did Jack really hear his father? Did the island bring his father back to life?

10) Alright...so did Benry say something about a Sub when he went to get Juliette? That's what I thought I heard.

11) We see Jack being taken to where Colleen is. They cover his head and turn on the sirens. It was hard to tell if he could hear Sawyer and Kate or not.

12) Jack saw the x-rays of the spine as he was "scrubbing in". I totally forgot that he's a spine surgeon. He didn't seem like he was trying too hard to save Colleen, but then again, he said later on that she would have died anyway. After that...he pulls Juliette closer and tells her that he's a spinal surgeon, and that he noticed the x-ray was for a man ~40 with a tumor on his spine. "Who am I here to save?" Any doubt that it's Benry? Slightly.

13) Can't wait to see the next episode. 1) Interesting that the Hobbit, Merry, has a quote like this in the episode: "Trees, yeah I’ve heard they’re wonderful at conversation". What, do we have Ents on the island?

2) Remember the Terminator Trilogy. Whenever someone did time travel, they were naked. Desmond's naked, and he seems to know the future. Could the failsafe have caused a break in the 4th dimension while Desmond was right next to it?

3) Was the Tonka Truck Benry's? Were those his parents' corpses in the den?

4) If the Wolf that we saw as Locke left the sweat lodge was a Coyote...it takes on a whole new meaning. Actually...Locke would fit that description too.

5) Quote from a poster, that I found interesting: "The inability of Locke to speak reminds me of an incident in the bible. Since LOST has no shortage of biblical references I thought it would be worth a mention. The father of John the baptist Zechariah was in the temple one day when an angel appeared to him and said that his wife Elizabeth was going to have a baby. 1) We start the episode in Locke’s eye. He’s laying in the jungle a bit disoriented. Desmond seems to run by him, but Locke, for some reason cannot speak. Locke goes back to the camp and begins building a sweat lodge, and asks Charlie to stand guard.

2) I had heard rumors about a character that died was going to come back to act as a spiritual guide to Locke (who’s back-story would be further revealed). I had a feeling it would be Boone. We saw Locke take the hallucinogenic fruit into the sweat lodge. Soon after, Boone appears, and tells Locke that someone in his vision needs his help. Through the vision, Locke realizes that he must clean up his own mess and that he must rescue Eko. Upon exiting the sweat lodge…Locke regains his ability to speak.

3) The Sweat Lodge involves a personal experience. While I lived in Arizona, I had a close friend out there. He was part of a group of Cherokee’s that migrated south and had a reservation in Arizona (Navajo and Hopi reservations are more prominent in Arizona). I participated in a sweat lodge with my friend, his father, and two other close friends of his. The fire was outside of the hut, across from the door. Red hot rocks would be pulled from the fire and placed in a small hole in the middle of the hut. Then water was poured on the rocks. I’m sure there was some sort of herb in the water, as the water was oddly fragrant (or the herbs were placed right on the rocks, for all I remember). We probably didn’t follow all the necessary protocols. I’ve read that you are usually either in silence, or chanting together. We were in deep conversation. What I saw (or thought I saw) was deeply spiritual. Whether they were visions, or me wanting so much to see visions, I don’t know. But, to this day, I keep what I saw in there close to heart, and have never shared it. Not sure how long I was in there…but when I came to (with a monstrous headache) a couple of people had also awoken and my friend’s father spoke to me. I was given the life symbol of the bear (he was the turtle, my friend was the lizard). I have to go back and check the exact significance…but the bear symbolizes spirituality, inner-strength and maternal instinct. I entered the sweat lodge as a human…I left the sweat lodge as a bear. Interestingly, I discovered something recently that my nickname “Mangy” (man-jee) is similar to Bear in Siberian dialects, mangi. It means “Spirit of Ancestors” in other dialects. Anyway…Why is this significant? When Locke exited the sweat lodge, we saw the image of the wolf…The Hunter. Locke is not a Farmer…he is a Hunter.

4) The fact that Locke lost his ability to speak, but gained it back gives us a glimpse into his mental issues. I’m more convinced than ever that his paralysis was psychosomatic. His inability to speak sure was.

5) So Locke became a Tree-Hugger. The back-story didn't reveal much, other than to confirm that Locke is easily tricked. We kinda knew this with everything his father did to him. Looks like the pot helped out his anger issues. Funny thing is...right before the kid said "What are you going to blow up?" I was thinking the greenhouse was either for pot, or for a bomb. In the end, the kid/cop straight up tells Locke that he was chosen by the cops, because he would be the easiest to dupe. Then he tells Locke that Locke doesn't have what it takes to shoot him. Sure enough...Locke doesn't.

6) Another rumor I heard was that the implosion of the hatch gave one of the three within the hatch special powers, similar to one of the powers on the new show Heroes. Well…there’s a guy on Heroes…he’s a painter. His paintings are an oracle of the future. And now it seems that Desmond can see into the future. He told Hurley of a speech from Locke that didn’t happen until later.

7) And now we get an introduction to two new survivors that will play bigger roles in the show. Paulo and Nikki. Not much info on them yet. But, I would expect flashbacks from them at some point this season.

Live Together, Die Alone (S:2,E:23&24...Season Finale)

Alright…so…I'm sure many of us loved that season finale. I loved it. I'll tell you what was disappointing though. They packed so much into one episode, that they could have stretched out a bit and made better. Couple that with the fact that we had the middle of the season stretched so thin that it got a little bland (not to mention all the weeks they took off). I think they could have planned it better. Anyway…back to what I was saying…the season finale was awesome.
Some of my ponderings mixed with stuff I've come across on the message boards. I'm sure I'm only touching on half the things that happened, so please feel free to bring up other topics.

1) So how many of you thought that when it went to the snowy scene, that it was some commercial, and you were waiting for the punch line? Maybe I was the only one…anyway. Did you notice that the guy who called Penelope was Matthew Fox. It wasn't him as Jack (obviously). Was that the "Bad Twin"? I know, I know…there's been a lot of references to the Bad Twin.

2) A lot of references to snow: Snow Globe, the Snowman joke, Polar Bears, Sharks (larger sharks tend to feed in colder water). There were some other references in the filmstrip and other things people mentioned. Some posters (message posters) have a theory that the island is in a snow globe type of environment, protected from the cold of the Antarctic. If Flight 815 went off track, leaving Australia, it's conceivable that they ended up closer to the Antarctic.

3) So Elizabeth's (Libby's) husband died. Maybe that's why she was in the asylum. I loved the part how she mentioned that her husband name was David. Could that be the same Dave as Hurley's imaginary friend. Could she see Dave too? We've been promised more flashbacks with Libby in Season 3, so stay tuned. Here's my pondering with Libby...Libby may have been an other and/or worked with Hanso. Penelope's dad might be part of Hanso...he has money. He sent Desmond on the race (regatta) knowing the magnet would pull him in, or that they'd make him crash on the island somehow. Meeting Libby in the Starbucks, and her having a boat may have been more than a coincidence. Hanso may have helped her when she was in the asylum.

4) Great line by Sayid. Not in these exact words, but…"I don't know whether to be more concerned about where the rest of the statue is, or the fact that it has four toes." There's some scientists who believe that as humans evolve, we will lose our little toe. There's also the theory that the Atlanteans (of Atlantis) were an evolved species of humans, and that they were slightly different. I wonder if there are any stories of them having 4 toes. However, this series seems to be based more on mythology than anything.

Ever read about Aurvandil? This was a great find by one of the posters on the ABC site. http://www.ugcs.caltech.edu/~cherryne/myth.cgi/Aurvandil.html. Couple that with what's below from another poster.

5) Did the bird really say Hurley's name? I have to go back and watch my DVR'ed copy. I was too tired to go through it again last night.

6) Michael's not getting far on that boat, and not because that little boat has about a 100-150 mile range. He has the sickness. He was looking at that sore on his arm when he said he was looking for firewood (right after he had spoken to one of the others about the change in plans). Someone else mentioned that the scab on his forehead keeps getting bigger. The sore on his arm looked similar. Could just be over-analysis. Another issue with Michael is the compass. In season one, Sayid had a compass and said that an electro-magnetic field nearby was messing with the compass as it wasn't truly pointing North. Well, let's assume that Fenry (Fake Henry) took the electro-magnetic field into consideration (pre-meltdown). Then the direction he sent Michael and Walt in will now be altered to it's true direction. This could mean a lot of things. If he was sending Michael and Walt into a trap, they're not going to get there. Keep an eye on this.

7) The fake hatch was actually scratched off on the map in the hatch that Kelvin was drawing (in continuation of his partner's work).

8) That brings us to Kelvin. Anyone notice that he's the guy that released Sayid and gave him money after forcing him into interrogating his own people during the Gulf War? I don't think Kelvin's dead. Yes, he had head trauma, and there was nobody to treat him, but Desmond left quickly, and the island has healing powers. We don't know if Desmond ever went back to bury him or not (which would answer a lot of questions). The reason I don’t think he's dead…because shortly thereafter, the "Tailies" went through that area, and Kelvin's body would have still been there. The boat wouldn't be there, because Desmond ran before the tailies made it to the other side of the island.

9) So it now seems that The Pearl station was the behavioral test. Those tubes with their notes went nowhere. What I want to know is, where did they get all those tubes from? They must have a huge stock of those things if they're not getting sent back.

10) So, soon after the first episode of season 2, I thought the girl in the picture with Desmond was Jack's wife, and later on I thought that the person Jack's wife was cheating on Jack with was Desmond. However, Penelope wasn't Jack's wife, so nix that idea. But, Jack knows Penelope somehow, because of the way he reacted when he saw the picture and said "Who's that" before Desmond packed it in his bag. If her father is/was a bigwig at Hanso, and I believe Jack's father is still alive and working with Hanso, is it conceivable that Jack and Penelope may know each other somehow?

11) Looks like Fenry did hit the button when Locke was stuck under the blast door. He was just playing with Locke's head.

12) Add Desmond to the list of characters who's said a variation of the quote: "I'll see you in another life"

13) And what's with Charlie? Does he really not give a damn about Eko and Locke? Or is it the EMP that has him all loopy? The brain runs off of electric signals. The EMP could have knocked him out and disoriented him.

14) Apparently, all the stuff with the hackers on the Hanso website (Persephone, et al) will play out in the 3rd season. Did anyone catch the interview with the PR guy at Hanso on Jimmy Kimmel last night? It was pretty poorly done, with scientists in the background occasionally stopping to look at a blank wall and seeming very interested in it. But, it served its purpose too.

15) Word is that LOST is signed to an 8-year deal. Sheesh.

Obviously they have some sort of cookie, because Persephone didn't have a new message for me. So I searched around a little more. There's a link to Joop's Corner. Next thing I know, the site does this strange stuff. So, I started clicking on the places where it would let me click (connecting the dots, so to say). And I came across something interesting. Two For The Road (S:2,E:20)

Can I just say What The F_ck?!?!?!?

Ok…that episode was so F'n confusing. So, Ana Lucia's character had kinda fallen by the wayside. The directors admitted that it wasn't quite going as they planned. The relationship with Jack wasn't going anywhere. The "building an army" thing never got off the ground. She randomly hooks up with Sawyer. And now we find out that she knew Jack's father…but, now Jack will never know……….cuz she got killed at the end of the episode.

And the whole thing with Libby possibly stalking Hurley for a long time and her whole story line was getting good. And she's dead too. Well…maybe. I think the red liquid we saw spilling was wine, and that may have saved her (as she had it under the blankets). Plus, in the preview for next week, they say "She's dead" not "They're dead". Michelle Rodriguez was on Good Morning America this morning confirming that her character (Anna Lucia) is dead.

Who's next? Eko? I know his story (which I loved that episode) hasn't really gone anywhere, and he's been non-existent lately.

I like the part where Sawyer bangs into the door of the car that Ana Lucia and Jack's father are sitting in. That's the same bar that Sawyer meets Jack's father in.

Michael, obviously, was only doing what he was told to do in order to get his son back (or the chance to join the others and be with his son again). We all knew he was lying when he said the others are savages who live in tents, etc, etc. At least, that's when I knew something was wrong with him.

If you remember what I said before, that I feel Locke would be invited to join the others. Looks like it may have been close, as "Henry" was coming to get him.

Another prediction that I'm revisiting…that Jack's father is the leader of the others. I'm so convinced of that right now. I have to go back and watch it, once I get my season 1 DVDs back. But, there was no body in the casket in the episode when Jack was chasing his father through the jungle.

Anyway…they can't keep killing off characters because they don't feel the character is developing. They have plenty of time to develop characters if they don't take 3 weeks off between each new episode. To me, this is bad writing.

In conclusion…I still liked the episode. It was above average. Sure, it had the shocker ending that will win over a lot of people. But, (in my best Randy Jackson impression) "It started out a little shaky, but it came together alright. It was okay, dog."

By the way…did y'all catch the Hanso commercial during one of the breaks. Silly MFers.

That's my commentary…now for what's out there on the internet:

1) Several people noted that the station Jack's father tuned into while driving with Ana Lucia was 99.9, which is 666 (evil) upside down. Yes…that's a stretch.

2) The police cars had the numbers 23, 15, 16

3) More on the commercial: "The Hanso foundation commercial was placed into the regular commercial line up as if it were a real commercial. After the commercial the show did not resume but there were more commercials. ABC you have really pulled it off! My hats off to you for this cool trick. I hope you were not in the bathroom when this came on. The commercial showed Leonardo Davinci and one of his artworks. You also see the space shuttle and a strand of DNA. In the background you see the sun coming up over what looks like a mountain and there is a body of water in front of it. Do you dare call the number 1-877-hansorg? I called it but did not get through. Some folks on the board have claimed to have gotten through. They say that Geronimo Jackson is mentioned. I read one account that said it says what have you done with Alvar Hanso and who is in charge here? The Hanso foundation was first introduced in the episode Orientation when we saw it in the hatch film." This guy also claims that this is why he thinks Alvar Hanso is the "Him" they're talking about. The leader of the others.

4) A lot of talk about the "Daughter" that Jack's father wanted to see. Many are saying that it's Claire.

Got LOST?

My kind of episode!!! And we get further into Locke's story (been waiting on that) though it really didn't give us much…other than his girl ditching him over what she basically warned him that she'd ditch him over. What about the $200,000. Tell me he didn't leave it. Also, some guys are saying that Locke's father is the real "Sawyer"…speculation right now…but interesting nonetheless. Could that somehow make Locke and Sawyer half brothers?

#1 by far…wasn't that Sayid's friend, Nadia, who Locke was inspecting the house for???!!!
So…Henry Gale was really someone's name…just not "Kaiser Soze's". So Verbal (or Kaiser…whatever you want to call him) has been working hard to break Locke…and he's close. I wouldn't be surprised at all, if Locke is the first one to be welcome among the others…not as a guest…but one of them. That would be the heel turn of the century.

Looks like they got some food shipments. Maybe the food in the hatch isn't as old as we once thought. But, wouldn't they have heard something? A crash? A plane? Something? I'll tell you what it does mean though…someone thinks that project is still ongoing.

So…I always found it interesting that the Hanso Corporation had this "Dharma Initiative". See…when I first joined Capital One, I was part of the International Business Development. We were doing a lot of work with India, China, South Korea, Thailand, etc., and had to make a trip to India. Before our CEO would go, they wanted a cultural report on the country…which being one of the few non-Indians in the group, I'm not sure why they chose me…maybe they wanted to keep me away from the "real" work. Anyway…there was a symbol that I did some research into…it's called the Dharma Chakra (a.k.a. the symbol in the middle of the Indian flag).

Bill will sit there and tell you what everyone is holding in their hands, while Chino will slow play you out of all your money…er…mangos. I mean…All-In with 9's, and a call with 5's?!?!? That's either some great reads, or some severe stupidity.

What’s up with Zeke’s costume? For a place that looks abandoned, the Serpent Handler Hatch had Zeke’s beard and that costume glue. Wasn’t Zeke wearing that a few days earlier when Jack and the gang met up with him in the forest? Has Zeke been at the S.H. Hatch recently? Maybe he has more than one set.

The "others" have taken on a new definition. They have some way of getting to the "outside world". They dress up in their tattered clothes, for the Losties to see (Zeke's costume).

So, was Kate’s childhood friend an experimental kid in the hatch? He had the same plane for a toy that was on the mobile on the crib at the Serpent Handler Hatch.

Did Aaron pass the infection to Sun? If she is actually pregnant, I got my money on Hurley being the father.

So, Alex saved Claire. Right? The others must not have noticed that. Cuz, she was there in the forest when she brought out Kate (whom they had captured). Unless that wasn’t Alex. Or the Alex that brought out Kate, was a different Alex.

Another reference to the Wizard of Oz (The first being Henry Gale…same name as Dorothy's uncle…and the hot air balloon). Henry Gale referred to Stephen King. LOST lightly resembles one of Stephen King's greatest masterpieces. And I'm not talking about The Stand. Anyone want to take a guess? Someone on the message boards listed a bunch of the similarities. It was very interesting.

Someone on the message boards mentioned something that I also felt. Does Henry Gale remind you of Verbal Kent in the Usual Suspects. Could Gale turn out to be the "He" that Zeke was referring to in Claire’s flashback? Obviously, he's rubbed Locke the wrong way. But, for Locke to let something like that bother him that much…it strays from his character. I hope…really hope…we get into Locke's background story again. Was he really paralyzed? Was it psychological? How did he end up that way? And what happened to the lady? Did she die in the "accident"? They also need to revisit Locke's confrontation with the "Monster". What memories did it download?

Maybe the "He" is Jack’s father. I don't think he's dead.

Still trying to figure out the part with Eko cutting down the tree. Any significance? Stuff like that….if it has no real significance…it ends up on the cutting room floor.

Final Thought:

You know…these people have way too much to do with Hanso and each other. If you noticed, almost all of the main characters didn't purchase their own plane tickets. They were all given to them through other people in various circumstances. Did the Hanso's Dharma project include crashing the plane so they could do their experiment?

Upon further research…the girl that announces the winning lottery number that Hurley wins is the same girl that's with Sawyer in the hotel room before he realizes Hibbs is in there. This could be one of those things where they have an actor/actress play multiple roles in the film and hope nobody notices…or it could be like Randy, who's Hurley's boss at the Chicken Stop and Locke's boss at the Box Company.

Found an interesting theory, and thought I should mention it:

Someone mentioned that a large amount of Losties have been the cause of someone's death in their life before the island.

Quoting the poster: "From the beginning of the episode, the theme seemed to be that Sun could destroy something beautiful that she loved, and coldly deny it."

Could this be Sun's secret...her "lie" that Jin was talking about?

Did she finish the job (killing Jae) to cover her tracks, so Jin wouldn't find out about the affair?

Not sure why it didn't stick out to me before...but she made the Ballerina fall...and lied about it. Did she make Jae fall?

At the very least...indirectly...she did.

Quick Thought on Karl

Karl was the kid in the other cage, opposite Sawyer, before Kate was put in there.

Could Karl have been one of the Tailies that was kidnapped early in Season 2? There were something like 7 or 9 people kidnapped on the 2nd attack (first being when Eko was dragged into the jungle and killed the two Others.

Also...there were no original Tailies around to identify him as one of the Tailies.

Just something to think about.

The Glass Ballerina (S:3,E:02)

LOST Thoughts:

0) So we see the Glass Ballerina falling to the floor, and Sun (as a child) runs out of the room. We learn that Sun learned to lie early on in her life.

1) So...is it Jin's Twins that are working again...or is it Jae's child that Sun's carrying? Morning sickness is usually through the first trimester. 69 days, and she's still getting morning sickness. Judging by the fact that she's only recently becoming sick makes me think that it's Jin's kid. But, then again...she could have been getting morning sickness in the previous two seasons...we just weren't privy to that information. So...it could be Jae's kid. But, we get a slight hint that there wasn't any sex involved (at least on that occasion in the episode...there could have been other occasions). Sun says that she "can't". I'm assuming the "can't" refers to sex. This is still somewhat unsolved.

2) So Jin understands some English, and he knew that Sun lied. But, about what...Sayid's plans, or the affair?

3) Sun's father tells Jin that Jin can't quit. I'm guessing that's why the guy was following Sun and Jin in the airport. He (the white dude in the bathroom after the drink spilled on Jin) worked for Sun's father. His final message to Jin in Korean (subtitled in English) "Yes. I know you're planning to run away. But you're going to take that watch to Mr. Paik's friend in California. You do anything else, anything. You will lose her. You are not free. You never have been, and you never will be."

4) Jae's death...was it suicide, or murder? He was clutching the pearls...making it look like a suicide. But, could Sun's father have sent someone to finish the job, knowing that Jin is weak in the killing aspect. We've already seen Jin's inability to kill in "In Translation", even at the orders of Mr. Paik (Sun's father). I do have to say I was impressed with Jin's skills with locking and loading a gun. Wasn't expecting that.

5) We see Alex again. If the Others are "good people" why is Alex rebelling? We find out that Karl was not planted by the Others. So who are Karl's parents? He seems about as young as Alex. His parents certainly can't be two of the Others...can they? Would they subject their own children to that treatment?

6) Sawyer and Kate work in a rock quarry type setting. I noticed that one of the guys was using a ground-pounding tool, used to smooth a road out after the asphault is poured on the ground. Are they building a runway?

7) Awwww...how cute...Sawyer and Kate finally kissed. Wait...they kissed before...in season one. Except, he bribed her into that. So...Sawyer is becoming a very likeable character. But, my question is...was he kissing her because he was actually turned on...or did he do it to start the fight so he could size up the Others? As a Con Man, getting a read on someone is probably the most critical success factor. Sawyer has been a Con Man for a long time...so I'm assuming he's very good at getting reads. We saw this later in his conversation with Kate (which Benry witnessed on the big screen)...he had reads on everyone there, even mentioning that Juliette would have no problem killing kate. He said that he was only really concerned about two of the guys...and possibly a third one that may have some martial arts skills.

8) (Crediting a poster by the screen name of qcotms) The theory on the Others being children during the days of the Dharma projects on the island, and being tested...and the fact that they have spent their whole lives on the island (hence their infatuation with testing other children), may have been on the money. The other similar theory is that they were the children of the original Dharma scientists...who ended up getting the sickness and died off (the kids may have even killed them). These children raised themselves on the island, and may have been immune to the sickness. This would explain the whole thing about the good/bad people. They may have been on their own as kids, so they still act like kids. My only problem with that is...Dharma started in the 70s...Benry seems too old to be one of their kids.

9) More on the contact the Others have with the rest of the world. Benry knew about Bush, Jr., and the Red Sox winning the World Series. That's significant because of Christian Shepherd's line about something being so rare that it will happen when the Red Sox win the World Series (a big part of the whole "FATE" thing in LOST).

10) Speaking of the Others...Colleen and Juliette traded some nasty looks when Colleen interrupted the conversation between Benry and Juliette. Colleen was the one that spoke of the "Iraqi" (Sayid) and the decoy village. She was also shot by Sun on the boat, which could bring about an "eye for an eye" situation...as the Others do think like kids...and might take a LOSTie life.

11) How did they NOT know about Desmond's boat? That was a bit of a surprise, since the Others seem to know everything. Well...they have the boat now. Should be interesting to see how they utilize it (or keep it captive).

12) In the end, after Benry (a.k.a. Benjamin Linus) gives Jack the update about the outside world, he promises Jack that he'll send him home, if he cooperates. Jack doesn't believe him, until he sees the video of the World Series. Then the look on his face changed.

Lost is back!!!

So...I'll start this off with some of my thoughts...then I'll add some info from other sites afterwards.

My Quick Thoughts:
1) How many of you "Losties" had goose-bumps by the time it cut to the first commercials?
2) Henry…er…Fenry…er…Benry now has a name
3) Trying to figure things out…but it seemed like Sawyer knew Juliette from somewhere
4) Stephen King referenced again. The writers love Stephern King. I've heard that you get a lot of similarities between LOST and King's books "The Stand" and "The Dark Tower Series". They had his book "Carrie" in their book club. Carrie is a story about a girl with telekinetic powers. Forshadowing? Walt?
5) "Let it go" on the intercom. Mind game?
6) Looks like Sawyer's locked in a Skinner Box (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skinner_box )
7) Polar Bears….Sawyer in Bear Cage
8) Sharks…Jack in Shark Tank
9) The Siberian dude at the end of Season two that looks like Jack. It wasn't actually Matthew Fox, like I thought. It was Len Cordova ( http://imdb.com/name/nm0502653/).

Others' Thoughts (in my words, for the most part):

The title of the show refers to a book by Charles Dickens which opens with "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity."

Can we call it, "A Tale of Two Camps"?

The show opens in Juliet's eye. Much like the opening of season 2 with Desmond, we think she's somewhere other than the island (I thought she was Penelope for a while). In her book club, we see that someone (Ben) is not there. After the "earthquake" she runs into Ben who coyly remarks by saying he is no longer in the book club when he sees Juliet with the book Carrie. Ben is Fenry (now known as Benry).

The view of the plane coming down and breaking apart in mid air was a nice effect.

So...are the "Others" people that worked for Dharma who stayed on the island after the electromagnetic contamination? Or, are they children that were part of the Dharma Initiative testing that happened on the island before? Could this be why they are now testing other children? Walt...Alex?

Where's Waldo

(NOTE: This is in regards to previous seasons. Eventually things will be up to date, and the blog will have a semi-chronological order to it)

First and Foremost…this show has turned me into somewhat of a geek. What I love about LOST…it's the "Where's Waldo" of television. Obviously the writers/directors know what they're doing by putting in all these little things. But, I love trying to find all these things. Now, most of this stuff isn't stuff that I've found. In fact, everything I've "discovered" on my own is already on these fan sites (guess I'm not that great in the attention-to-detail department). Anyway, hope this isn't a weekly thing. It just fascinates simple-minded people like me.

This TV show is a lot like the movie CRASH.

Some more interesting tidbits I've found on some fan sites. Make sure to pass on to LOST fans I don't know:

1) When Jack is taking care of the girl he marries…there's another patient that he overlooks and pays no attention to. The guy dies at 8:15 (like flight 815 and 4,8,15,16,23,42). They guy who died was Shannon's father…Mr. Rutherford.

2) Something strange is going on with Walt. I think he's found some sort of device to project his image on the island in random places. His speech is backwards…so it could be a distortion in the device…kinda like picture negatives. He was kidnapped probably because he has control over animals. He was reading a comic about polar bears before we saw the first polar bear.

3) Another theory is about the "Others" going after people that they deem are "Good", like what Goodwin told Ana Lucia. If you noticed, Mr. Eko was on the list they found on that "other" they killed. They tried to kidnap him…he seems "good". Locke was almost abducted too, and he has that "Good" nature about him.

4) Obviously the numbers keep rearing their head. The number 5 is on the tattoo on Jack's arm. Michael Jordan wore number 23 and there's a guy named Michael on the island (okay…bad joke).

5) By the way…I think the 2012 theory is dead. When Sawyer spoke to Jack about meeting Jack's father (Christian) in the bar. Jack's father says, "That's why the Sox will never win the series." If he meant the Red Sox…then the show timeline is now. If he meant the White Sox…well, that episode was filmed before the Sox won this recent world series…leaving that as the only way the 2012 theory stays alive. But, c'mon…when you want to make a poignant reference to the "Sox" and the "World Series" (before the White Sox just won) it's gotta be about the Red Sox.

6) Some lines that have been repeated by several characters:
"Don't tell me what I can't do." (at least 3 characters)
"See you in another life." (this one in a couple of languages, it's written in arabic on the back of the picture of that girl that Sayid helped escape)
"I'm not crazy." (at least 3 characters)

7) Locke's manager at the box company, and Hurley's boss at the Chicken Shack were the same guy, Randy.

8) A striking amount of the characters have "father issues"

9) Hurley was on TV in the background of one of Jin's flashbacks, where he doesn't kill the guy and the guy gives him a dog. Sawyer is in Boone's. Jack is in Shannon's. Desmond in Jack's. Sayid on TV in background in Kate's. This one is unconfirmed, but Locke might be in Hurley's, when Hurley visits his friend at the mental hospital, you see someone that looks like Locke in a blue jacket staring at a painting (not 100% sure on this, but here's the picture: http://tinypic.com/view/?pic=i74ydi).

10) Some other person/entity purchased the tickets for most of the main characters (different in every situation though…no conspiracy).

11) The colors Black and White are prominent in a lot of things: Backgammon pieces, Locke's eyes in Claire's dream, Stones found with Adam and Eve, Rose/Bernard, Eko/Locke, Jack's suit & shirt / Eko's suit and shirt, Stripes on Marvin Candle's tie (reversed in film pieces), Sawyer's two-half glasses, Black Horse and Heroin (a.k.a - White Horse),

12) All the girls on the soccer team in the airport have jersey numbers that are the same as the infamous numbers from the show.

What Kate Did

Here's some things I notices about the last episode:
1) The car that crashed wasn't even damaged when Kate drove off (and it was the black horse that caused the crash)

2) When Kate went to visit her "father" in the army recruitment office…there's TV footage of middle-eastern soldiers being taken hostage…guess who was one of them…(drum roll)….Sayid!!!

3) The theory (in my previous email) about it being 2012 when they crash on the island (the Mayan year for the end of the world)…well when its showing Kate's past…she pays for the train ticket with brand new $20 bills (the colored ones).

4) NOW…THE PIESE DE RESISTANCE

Anyone on a Windows computer who wants to know how to get that character, simply go into any program that will allow text, hold down the ALT key and type 4815162342 (interesting numbers, huh?) on the keypad (not the numbers above the letters, but the keypad), then take your finger off ALT. Viola!

Also if you take µ and tilt it 45 degrees and add a couple lines you get the Hanso Logo (see picture above).

The Atlantis & Mu Theory

This is somewhat based on Atlantis and Mu (if you don't know Mu, check this out http://www.are-cayce.com/am/mu.html). I found this in a posting on the ABC website for LOST. This poster really did their homework.

And this is where the obsession started for me...

Ok, this may be right, and if it isn't then its one of the biggest coincidences I have ever seen. Theres factual background information in it to introduce the theory, so bear with it please.

Ok, so here goes.

Something caught my attention in the mural in the hatch that rekindled some old research knowledge from high school days. I decided to refresh my knowledge of it, and heres what I came up with (I am referring to the circle with the dot in it, or the zero with the point...thats how i said it to myself and thats what started this).

Philosophical Idea Relationship
There is a philosophical concept that describes the return of consciousness to higher thoughts and awareness. Metaphorically, it refers to your consciousness spiraling outward towards a higher awareness. Often referred to as the Zero Point, it is a game that requires one to create and restore balance and realized that it is just a game itself. "If you feel a part of your soul in that game called out to you - with messages about changes there and in our game - then pay attention - as all things are parallel and move in spiraling motions." Lets look at the mural Jack looked at in the hatch.

If you look right above the number 42, you see a circle with a dot in it. Or is it a Zero with a point in it? Lets move on to the blue, hieroglyphic eye right above the word "sick". This philosophy also incorporates many Eye metaphors. One of which being The Right Eye of Horus, which is a reference to the information stored in the DNA priests and other people from ancient times (information referring to Creational Geometry), in which this information will be released at the end of the world. The color blue makes reference to the end of the world. This whole philosophy is called "Atlantis Rising". The people the information was stored in were people who were resident on Atlantis.

Atlantis
The Lost City. It’s location is generally unknown, but theorized (believed best theorized by the following picture)

Atlantis was an ancient island that sunk years ago. An island with a mild climate with a power source described as mysterious electromagnetic crystals. The location above is the proposed location at that time. But it lies in the middle of a tectonic plate that pretty much flows around the world. It is speculated to have moved due to shifts in the plates.

Mayan History
Mayan history also tells of a lost island named Mu. This island is historically believed to be the same as Atlantis. The Mayans were also very good at math and astrology, operating off of a number system that has a base of 20 (like the metric system has a base of 10), they were able to create a calendar 1000s of years ago that said there are 360 days in a year (which is extraordinarily accurate). This is known as the Mayan Calendar. The calendar it self predicted the end of the world in 2012, because it used a deductive math structure. The end of the world would represent events like their god Quetzalcoatl returning as a messiah.

The DHARMA Initiative
Created in 1970 by two scientists and funded by the Hanso Foundation, it is an initiative set up on the island to analyze the geological phenomena of the island. It was said that there are six stations set up on the island. We also know from the Hanso Foundation website that they have different initiatives running as well, including "The Life Extension Project", "The electromagnetic research initiative", "The mathematical forecasting initiative", "The cryogenics development imperative", and "The accelerated remote viewing training facility".

Connecting the Dots
The philosophy of "Atlantis Rising" clearly represents what is happening psychologically to the castaways (take Locke for a basic example). The other ideal are too. The Zero Point is on the Mural. The Blue Right Eye of Horus is also on the mural representing the end of the world coming "Out of the Blue". And also the Creational Geometry information to be released (can be represented by the priest found in the tree, even though he wasn’t really a priest, but its still symbolic).

Other indications of the mural include the Mayan Messiah, Quetzacoatl. Translated into English as meaning "Feathered Serpent" or "Serpent Bird", if you really look at the right of the mural, you can see what can be construed as a bird with its beak wide open around the word "Sick" (you can even infer a tongue there too). The everything to the north of it looks like overlapping shapes of similar color (feathers?). The possibility of this being the monster on the island cannot be rejected.

We know that something went wrong in the middle of the DHARMA initiative that requires them to push the button every 108 minutes (which is the sum of the infamous numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42). But what went wrong? I propose that the island started to move along the rifts. The island was stationary to begin with in the Atlantic. Probably just starting to rise a century or two ago. What do we know that is that old on the island? The Black Rock of course. If it was indeed a slave trade ship, it would have been traveling between Africa and America. It hit the island when it was lower than it is now. Over the years, the island rose more, which is why there is no beach around it. Next we have the ship with Rousseau. 16 years ago, her ship was doing a geological study off of South America only to pick up the signal and crash there. About 10-12 years ago, a small airplane containing drugs crashes on the island. Maps of Nicaragua are found on the plane. Hurley’s insane mental patient friend was working a post in Alaska about 7 years ago, analyzing signals over the Pacific and picked up the island’s transmission. 3 years ago, Desmond’s ship gets caught on the Great Barrier Reef and drifts to the island. And flight 815 crashes on the island, off course between Sydney and America, heading slightly north towards Fiji. Here is a Tectonic map with specific locations and times. Note that going by either Antarctica OR Alaska areas would result in the polar bears on the island.

The star indicates the location with the coordinates of 4.815 Latitude, 162.342 Longitude, or the numbers as coordinates.

And now the Mayan mythology and the connection to the DHARMA initiative. I mentioned the Mayan Calendar before. In the orientation video, there is a clip (which I don’t have the picture of) with the two creators of the initiative sitting in there office. On their bookshelf is none other than the Mayan Calendar. As mentioned before, the calendar predicted the end of the world in 2012. If we look at the names of the projects of the Hanso corporation, they certainly do have a theme of life preservation. I think the DHARMA initiative is not a study of the island, but a control of the island. Six stations set up to control the island itself. I think the problem that was encountered was either the island was rising or it started moving. Pushing the button every 108 minutes probably prevents the island from rising somehow. Just as Desmond’s partner said when asked why he pushed the button: "Just saving the world, my friend".

The Others bear a striking resemblance to the scientists in the orientation video. My theory: once the island started to move, its location may not be hidden anymore. If someone were to find it, then they would come to it and ruin the initiative. The same goes for those who castaway on it. I think the main purpose of the others is to keep everyone who is on the island ON the island. Take Danielle for example. She has been there 16 years and instead of focusing on how to get off the island, she is trying to find her kid. Same with Michael as he leaving, the Others take Walt, and now Michael doesn’t want to leave (the only guy who knows how to build a raft).

The numbers represent the final location of the island before the end of the world, and the present time is 2012. Remember how I said the Mayan Calendar predicted the end of the world in 2012…well, more specifically…

It makes sense. In Sayid’s first flashback, he lets a girl go during some war in the Iraq area, and the second flashback says he hasn’t seen her in 7 years and it’s the flashback of him before he gets on the plane. Most of us just assumed he was in the Gulf War era. But it doesn’t add up. If he was serving during, say, the current war, it would be about 2005 when he let the girl go, thus making 7 years later 2012. Also, the apartment he was in while he was undercover was ridiculously run down, yet it had a Plasma?!?. Yeah right.

My Theory:
The Island is Atlantis/Mu. The DHARMA initiative is preventing the end of the world as predicted by the Mayan Calendar. The Numbers are the final position of the Island. The Others are trying to keep everyone on the Island and keep away the rest of the World. They are also scientists part of DHARMA. And if you still aren’t convinced, here’s this. The DHARMA initiative started in 1970. If it was meant to run till the end of the world, it was meant to run 42 years.

UPDATE
First off, I would like to clarify a few things about this theory before I go to add-ons/corrections.
The Sayid example was a loosely based example. It IS true that he served in the Gulf and he was part of the Republic Guard (or whatever its called). However, it is ALSO true that we don’t know the time of his first flashback. It is rashly assumptive of one to say that it was during the Gulf, or while he was in the Republic Guard (he could have just been serving in general). The example isn’t solid, but it isn’t necessarily wrong either.

I NEVER said the Island was moving due to continental drift. I have an extensive knowledge of geology and physics, and I know that isn’t possible. I was insinuating that something was propelling the Island and that it would make sense (or make it easier to ‘propel’) to do this along the faults of the planet.

Also, I am talking about the idea of Atlantis rising out of the water, both physically as well as metaphorically (psychologically speaking). I get to that in the updates. And I also realize that information on Atlantis is varying and unstable…there is no definitive source for it, which is why my information on Atlantis is small compared to everything else.

Now for the updates

THE DRUG PLANE
The type of plane that this was is the Beechcraft C-45. THIS IS A MILITARY VESSEL that was specifically build for World War II as a variation of the Beech Model 18. Only 4526 were build starting 1933 and production of the stopped in 1945. THEY ARE ANTIQUE WORLD WAR II BOMBER PLANES. They can only fly 1140 miles before needing to refuel. Taking this into account…I need to re-determine where I can place this on the scale with more research.

Rousseau’s Boat
She is French and so is her team. Remember that there is a French country in South America called French Guiana. Its to the north of South America…and fits in perfectly with the timeline that I made here.

Desmond
Upon further analysis of Desmond’s account of what’s happened, I think he is lying BIG time to the castaways. When Jack met him in the flashback in the stadium, he said he was training for "a race around the world". This can be interpreted in two ways. One: The race actually spans the distance around the world and it’s a competition. But lets not forget one thing. Desmond’s shirt he was wearing in the flashback had the DHARMA logo on it. I think he knows everything (the DHARMA initiative would contain all knowledge of the island). Maybe he meant he was participating in a race that takes place in a singular point around the world from where they are at (i.e. the race is only on the island). Desmond also said his boat crashed on the reef (assuming Great Barrier Reef). That places him WAY to far from the Island’s location currently. And remember, he told the castaways that his ship crashed, similar to what Rousseau told the castaways. If Desmond is lying, then maybe Rousseau is as well, and the "ship crashing" story is what the DHARMA initiative tells them to do when talking to people who aren’t affiliated with it. (I am not sure, but I think that Rousseau asked Sayid when she captured him if he was "him", just like Desmond asked Locke the same thing)

The Hatches/Black Rock
Isn’t it interesting how the hatch seems to be constructed in a similar fashion to a submarine (appearing to be aquatically sealed). Perhaps the DHARMA initiative built the hatches while the island was underwater, before it started "rising". The Black Rock had a hole in its hull, suggesting that maybe it didn’t crash on the island, but some of the explosives exploded in its journey and it sank onto the island (all the explosives that were uncovered seem to have residue on them similar to the kind of residue you would find on an object that has been underwater for a period of time). Also, Hurley’s mental patient friend with the numbers was monitoring LONG WAVE TRANSMISSIONS when he heard the numbers. Long wave transmissions are what submarines use because they can travel underwater through certain depths. Perhaps when the island rose high enough was when the transmission could be picked up (16 years ago). Keep in mind that we never heard that transmission. If each number was stated in a different voice, it could be a verification system between the hatches, if each one is assigned a specific number. This would also explain why there is still a hatch(es) underwater (if in fact there is one underwater).

I have a corrected trajectory map of the islands traveling path that I will post later. Keep giving me your thoughts so I can make more corrections/elaborations.
